How to decorate an Easter Egg. Let’s not take it to the eggstream

Oh yes, Easter time, time for decorating eggs and Easter bonnets.  This year I have taken a very hands off approach to the whole mummy helping thing and left my boys to it.  Partly out of the fact that I am just not motivated enough to get my backside in to school and help, partly as I am missing mum and partly as I want my children top be proud of the things they do on their own.

So let me introduce you to my boys eggs, first we have a mini super hero and then we have a Indian egg.  all done by the fair hands of my children without any help, inspiration or even better interference from me.  I think they are fantastic.

So parents, STOP IT………..  This is not about having the perfect egg, the best decorated or anything like that, this is about your children doing something.  So sit on your hands and let them do it ON THEIR OWN.

Love them! Super cool super hero! My girls made their eggs last night too – all their own quirky work (peacocks anyone?) and all the better for it.

Oops… that sent before I’D even started!

cool eggs and you’re so right. kids do need to do things by themselves. I’m hopeless at crafts. We made an attempt at an Easter Bonnet two days ago. I was pleased and a bit surprised that people actually liked it. Thank God no-one laughed!!

FABULOUS ! Love that they did it themselves so many crafts are ‘perfet’so they should be if done by a grown adult too! Love them ;-)

Haha fantastic! I think if I kid shows an interest in crafts then should let them. It’ll be messy but that’s part of the fun and learning! ;)

Your Comments What great egg decorations. I love it when children try on their own.

Oh they are really good. We were talking about this the other day…I used to get very ‘protective’ over things needing to be made for school and I am such a perfectionist that the children weren’t allowed a look in on their creation. *Cough* ( not their homework I add though) but now I let them get on with and sit on my hands. Plus I’m too tired to stay up all night making the best Easter bonnet anymore ! ;)

They are super fantastic and even better as they are done by the boys! x
