An Easter Sunday at Narnia Newby Hall | Mum In The Madhouse

An Easter Sunday at Narnia Newby Hall

We are lucky to have Newby Hall just a short drive away and when we were invited to an Easter event there courtesy of Narnia The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, we thought it would be a great way to spend Easter Sunday.  Especially as it is the first one without mum and she would help me organise the Easter egg hunts, plus mum loved Newby Hall and we had taken the boys there together.

We were also lucky enough to receive a cop of the movie on Blue Ray and DVD and have to say the boys have watched it 3 times since receiving it and we have watched it as a family too.  It is a great movie with fantastical special effects and we loved the previous movies.

Newby Hall is a great place for the visit, so the egg hunt just added to the excitement of the day.  There is so much for children to do in the gardens, including a play area for younger children and an adventure garden for older children.  There is also a play fountain, so you need to make sure you take wet play clothes and a towel.  The boys made full use of the water as it was a scorcher yesterday. Our only disappointment was that it was very crowded and the egg hunt was round the play area and restaurant rather than through the woods as advertised, as the boys were really looking forward to a more interactive hunt (it didn’t help that two of the eggs were no where to be found).

There is plenty to do and we spent a whole day at the Hall and went back to the car and picnic area for a relaxing lunch.  It was a great day thoroughlythoroughly enjoyed by all.

Disclosure:  We were given a copy of Narnia The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and free entry in to Newby Hall Gardens for purpose of this post.
