Morrisons have introduced a new scheme called fuel saver. Fuel Saver is unique in the UK and works by giving you money off fuel when you buy certain gift vouchers from Morrisons. For every £10 you spend on gift vouchers you get a 1p per litre of fuel at your next fill up. I know, I am not explaining it very well, but this video does!
We tend to buy gift vouchers as gifts for people for weddings and for my older niece for her birthday, so I will be purchasing them from Morrisons.
Also is you are a budgeter and plan ahead, which is something I advocate over at A Thrifty Mum, then this is the sort of scheme you would love. Take a look at the some of the 34 retailers participating:
Currys PC World, Itunes, Homebase, Next, Burton, Dorothy Perkins, BHS, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Topshop, Wallis, Outfit, Toys R Us, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Pizza Express, Halfords, Accessorise, Monsoon, Bella Italia, Café Rouge, Cineworld, Boots, New Look, JD Sports, H Samuel, Zizzi, Facebook, Spotify, Club Penguin, Spa Finder, Toni & Guy, Hotel Voucher Shop, National Book Tokens.
The fuel saver scheme is not going to be a flash in the pan, no this is a permanent scheme and if you know you are going to be buying a big ticket item from Currys, why not pop in to Morrisons and buy the appropriate amount of vouchers and get the relevant savings off your next fill up. If you use £500 of vouchers to buy a new oven from Currys this will give you 50p-a-litre off fuel. On a typical 60-litre fill-up that’s a saving of £30 or 6% of the purchase price
Rather than giving your children money to spend on clothes from Next, JD Sports or any of the other retailers, giving them a £30 gift card would lead to 3p-a-litre off fuel. On a typical 60-litre fill-up that’s a saving of £1.80 off the purchase price
Yes, it may take a little planning, but just imagine all the savings you could make over the coming Christmas period.
