We have been busy planting in the garden and to celebrate this I decided to make some Oreo dirt desserts or chocolate mint puddings.  We have made dirt desserts with jelly worms in the past (I was first introduced to them in California) and this time I want to make them a little more adult.

These were so simple to make, they took less than 10 minutes to put together and the boys were delighted with them.  They would make a great pudding for any party too.

First off I had to pop to Asda for some Oreo Cookies.  It turns out that it was the perfect timing for this, as they were reduced from £1.03 to 50p a pack – total score.

Instructions

Mix up your choclate flavoured angel delight or pudding mix per the packet instructions.  Our’s was mixed with 300ml of milk and wisked.

For mint chocolate flavour, add 3 drops of peppermint extract or one drop of peppermint essential oil.  We only added mint to half the mixture.

Pour into your containers – We used glass candle containers as they looked like little flower pots.  We got six from our mixture and then set aside to set as per instructions (ours took 5 minutes in the fridge)

Place your packet of Oreo cookies into a plastic bag and bash with a rolling pin. You do not need to separate them or eat the cream!  We bashed till we had a mixture of fine crumbs and some larger ones.

Pour on top of your pudding mixture.

Whilst our pudding was setting we decided to stamp MINT on to our wooden spoons.  My top tip for this is to use an elastic band round the stamps to make the work.

Cut a sprig of mint and add to the pots.  We have mint plants in our garden, so used them.

Push the spoon into the pots and serve.

We also did some pots without mint and with jelly worms instead for the children.

We recycled our spoons in to plant markers in the garden!
