DIY Marble Maze – How to

Welcome back, your kids will love making this fun and easy marble maze.  Don’t you just love the way that children never just see a cardboard box, they see a castle, a spaceship of even in this case a maze. With a sprinkle of imagination, there is no limit to what everyday things can become.

How to make a DIY Marble Maze

Marble maze

First you need to prepare your box.  We used a variety of boxes from box lids to shallow boxes.

We covered our boxes with duck tape for decoration and to reinforce them.

Next cut a piece of paper to fit the bottom of the box.

Now the fun part, to create your maze!  We drew our plan on to the sheet of card before cutting straws to different lengths and glueing them to the sheet of card.  This is a great creative exercise for kids.  Just be sure to remind them that the marble needs to fit through all the gaps and make its way from one end to the other.

You can then place your sheet or card in to the bottom of the box.  We didn’t glue ours in place, as we made more than one maze and that way you can change them out.

Now you get to play! Simply place a marble at one corner of your box and tilt the box to guide the marble through the maze to the other side.  If you want to make it more challenging then try adding additional marbles.
