I am a big fan of anything that gets the creative juices flowing for kids and that is why I am working with Foresters Friendly Society this summer with a competition encouraging parents to get creative with their children to produce a drawing or painting showing how they would spend £5000 in their #LittleSpenders Competition.
To celebrate the launch of Vileda’s Kids Go Free campaign we are giving away a free ticket which entitles two adults and two children entry to any Sealife or Sanctuaries site (excludes London, Chessington and Alton Towers).
Whoever said that “Silence is Golden” must never have had children. As in my home when it goes quiet it means that there is something afoot. Usually the children are up to no good!
Did you know that fleas thrive in humidity and in temperatures between 24˚C-30˚C? If you didn’t you’re not alone. Unknown to many, British summertime signals the start of the flea season. As our family pets become more exposed to fleas outdoors, the risk of an infestation in the home increases too.
I recently learned that youth hearing loss was on the rise due to the increase in children wearing headphone and earbuds. As a Mum to two boys who often wear headphones as they want to watch or listen to different things this really concerned me. So we have been putting Puro Sound Labs volume limiting headphones to the test.
We’ve teamed up TOMY toys to offer Ten (yes 10!) lucky children the chance to win Judy’s Carrot Recorder and Badge from Zootropolis, designed to let kids recreate specific scenes and events from the film, truly bringing it to life.
I am sure I am not the only one who is in the middle of Spring cleaning and organising. As soon as the sun starts shining through my windows everything starts to look as though it needs a good clean. Also, as our home is aging I can also see the areas that need an update and makeover and I am delighted to be working with Tile Mountain to offer you the chance to win a £250 Tile Mountain Voucher.
How would you like to win a £100 VISA Gift Card? All you need to do is complete the Rafflecopter form below, but before you do that why not take a look at the new DC Super Hero Girls YouTube channel and website.
As a women I have never really been embarrassed talking about women’s health or my intimate areas. In fact I can actually say vagina out loud without laughing. I am more likely to burst into a fit of giggles at someone calling their vagina a tuppence or frou frou, than I am anything else. So I am delighted to be working with Canesten and their #GetComfortable with intimate health and thrush campaign in raising awareness women’s intimate health.
Do you still send Christmas cards? Each year we send less and less, but I want the ones we do send to be meaningful and the way we do that is to make our own. These super simple fine motor string art tree christmas cards appeal to the scandi style lover in me, plus they are fun and simple to make. I can see these being framed and brought out year after year.
I love Scooby Doo as do the boys. Scooby Doo is one of those programs that makes me laugh and them too! How would you like to win a £150 gift card for Smyths Toys, wouldn’t that be great for Christmas? I actually think that the new Scooby Doo LEGO would make great Christmas gifts.
One of the things we love as a family is movie nights and the whole family LOVE is Marvel and superhero stuff. I am a fan of Captain America (be still my beating heart), Mini likes the Hulk Best, MadDad is a Batman fan and Maxi likes Thor!
Do your kids love sports? Both my boys are sports mad. Football, cricket, tennis and athletics, they love them all. We are so lucky that I do not have to encourage my children to enjoy sport. It is part of their everyday, especially during the summer.
Today I have a great competition to share with you thanks to Tobias Baker. It is hard to believe that Alvin has been part of The Mad House for over two years now. It is hard to imagine our lives without him. He brings us much joy and completes us. We are a family of give. So much so that we actually look for holidays and breaks that we can take him along with us.
Both of my boys are sports mad, especially football. I am lucky that it takes no encouragement on my part to get them outside in t he fresh air playing and with the lighter nights they are outside playing football or cricket with their friends until they are called in. They both either scoot or walk to and from school and if they are taking the scooter then they really need a backpack for their school things (books, pencil case, PE kit etc) and this is where these fab Sportpax come in. Sportpax are backpacks with iconic, fun designs in the shape of sports balls. Sportpax bags are tough, resilient and more »
The Easter holidays are nearly upon us and Spring has sprung, it’s the perfect time for a Nature Trail! We are big fans of encouraging you to get out and about no matter what the weather, but the lighter nights and warmer days make it so much easier for everyone. To help encourage you get outside and take your kids on nature trails, TV presenter and mum of two, Angellica Bell is sharing her tips on getting down with nature and helping children learn where food comes from in a Twitter party on Wednesday March 25th, 8.30pm.
In honour of International Women’s Day this Sunday 8 March two great Belgian brands are offering six lucky Mum in the Mad House readers the chance to win some amazing prizes.
Our children are growing up and learning in an environment so different to when I was at school. Online technology is a given. Video content is available at the click of a button. I remember the school only having one TV on wheels and often my class would come to my parents house to watch a TV program! For the last month or so we have been reviewing the MWorld app and I can safely say that the boys have loved it and both MadDad and me think it is a fantastic way of reinforcing learning without kids even thinking they are learning. What is MWorld?
