DIY Colouring Page Bookmarks

You can never have enough bookmarks, or I certainly can’t.  I use them for my reading books, cookbooks, diary and any books I am using for studying and I have passed this on to my boys so we love these DIY colouring page bookmarks.

With the boys going back to school next week, I asked Tasha from Tasha Goddard Illustration to produce some unisex DIY colouring page bookmarks for me and I love the scribble designs you came up with.

Maxi decided to use pencils to colour his in.  He starts senior school so will need lots of bookmarks for when he is researching and for his new school.

Whereas I had a go at painting some with watercolour paints.  The results were beautiful no matter what we used.

Mini decided that he wanted to use every pen, pencil or paint that I had, so his are multimedia!

Once our bookmarks had dried we cut them out.  This is so much easier if you use a paper trimmer.

We loved the way they looked and decided to laminate them and keep them like this, but you could mat them on contrasting card.

I love my laminator, which is a Fellows A3 model (UK Link/US Link).  It is perfect for things like this and means that they will last a long time.  The boys love using it too. But don;t worry you can get self-adhesive laminate sheets (UK link/US Link)

Once we had laminated them we trimmed them to size and they were ready to use or gift.

They look amazing and are perfect for popping in our books.

I always print my printables directly onto 160 gsm cardstock using my Epson Ecotank Printer rather than regular paper, this way they are a little more durable and the pens do not bleed through to the other side. However, if you do not have a home printer then just pop to a library and use theirs.
