I love celebrating birthdays but don’t always have lots of time to make the perfect birthday cake but my children love a homemade cake so here are some of the best easy birthday cakes for kids. Simple for you to make and they look as though so much work has been put into them!

Personally I can make a really delicious sponge cake but it doesn’t always turn out even so I need some help in covering up any imperfections. Other people swear by Aldi’s premade sponge and then jazz it up with decorations. The truth is there is no perfect birthday cake just the right one for your children and you. Cover the uneven sides – This is my top way of making any cake look amazing. You can use anything from chocolate fingers, kitkats or chocolate bars.
