Tracks of my years

I started this blog as a record of my time with the Minimads. I started it as I wasn’t sure how much longer I would be with them and I wanted to leave them with an online journal of my thoughts, the things we were doing and a small window on my life. My blog has evolved over the years, as have I. I am no longer so scared that I am going to die, but I do still want the blog to be a window to my soul and give them a small insight in to the person who is their mummy.

The Fridge of a Mad Parent Meme

Sally has tagged me in the Fridge of a bad parent meme, eeeek….., but the good news is I am not alone, Pippa, Vic and Emma have to do it too (insert evil cackle)

I have to say that Sally’s fridge looked rather fuller than I have seen it in the past and I am hoping that there is still bear in it when we go and visit next week. My fridge is chockablock with food, although that is due to the fact that I managed to go shopping with the minimads yesterday evening.

Isn’t Blogging Great?

I am very proud to say after lots of hard work and a few late nights (not mine mind you) the the second MAD Blog Awards are open and taking nominations. You may remember last year I was a finalist in the Best MAD Family Fun Blog, I didn’t win, no that honor went to Pippa at A Mothers Ramblings, but in some ways I got something much better, I became a partner in the company that runs the awards, along with the Tots100 with Sally Whittle from Who’s the Mummy.

There is no one way to be a perfect mother

I didn’t know whether or not to do The Gallery this week. It is something that I pop in and out of when it suits my blog and I have to admit the prompt of mother love had me all of a quiver this week, as I so miss my mum and the mothers love that she provided.

We may not have agreed on everything and over the years we certainly had our ups and down, but I did feel protected in her cape of mothers love. She was there for me when I had my operations and held my hand through countless miscarriages and nightmares about dead babies when the last thing I wanted to do was close my eyes. She was there for me when I spent most of Maxi’s pregnancy in hospital, traveling the 350 miles by bus to come and sit by my side in hospital for the week before he was born, even sleeping there.

Innocent Queen of H

I was asked by innocent to be their Queen of H in honor of their new selection of magnets. Our h was a very shady character and decided that we had to play a game of hide and seek to find hin. Me and the boys hunted high and low around the house trying to locate him. Could he be in the laundry hamper, no. What about the homework book, no. In the end we decided to take our hunt outside and finally we found him hiding in behind the boys hair on the heads!

How to get your children to help with product reviews, just give them vorticity vacuum

We have wood floors downstairs and cream carpet on the stairs and upstairs (yes silly mistake, but the house came with cream carpets, we replaced them with wood downstairs). Now up until recently this had always been an issue for me when it came to vacuuming the floor. I had an upright hoover and it was a nightmare, it didn’t pick up the crumbs or dust bunnies and I ended up sweeping everywhere or getting the boys to sweep everywhere.
