It seems that the summer has happened it you haven’t been to a festival and now the boys are older (11 and 12) we are back to really enjoying festivals as a family. We used to regularly go to festivals BC (before children) and never missed a Reading Festival for 13 years! Rather than do a big festival with the kids we have been loving going to smaller and independent ones. This year we have been looking forward to visiting Nozstock The Hidden Valley.
So, I am going to talk about pregnancy and I feel that I need to add a full disclosure here – I am not pregnant, can not get pregnant and will never be pregnant again in the future. However, I have been pregnant numerous times in the past and have two happy healthy boys. This post is a paid collaboration with nutimum Pregnancy bars #nutrimumadvert #Ad #Nutrimum.
Summer holidays, you either love them or hate them. I am never sure about which camp I am in. I love spending time with the children but do worry about the cost of summer activities. I relish not having to get up each morning and giving up the school routine, but I don’t like hearing the words “I’m Bored” That is why I came up with the bored jar (about four years ago).
Can you believe we spend roughly one-third of our lives asleep, which makes it extremely important that we have a quality mattress? If you’re like me, you’re probably barely managing to juggle your work schedule, your house chores, and your children— which are stressors only made worse by a terrible night’s sleep.
One of the things that I find so challenging about motherhood is the constant laundry. It is never ending especially with two boys which are just noise with muck on. Add football and cricket kit to the regular weekly clothes and it can become overwhelming. There is nothing more disappointing that putting a load of washing in and then finding that it is still dirty after the wash. So here I am going to share my top 5 Genius Laundry Hacks and also review a new innovative laundry product.
Last year I talked about how I need to be more present in family photographs. How as the families main photographer and keeper of the camera that I tended not to be in many images. So I wanted to update you on how I was doing and also reiterate why mums need to get in the picture. I am also going to share with you some amazing family photos that we had taken.
When Amazon asked me to take a look at the Amazon Fire Tablet their timing could not have been more perfect. Mini broke his wrist playing football on his last day of primary school! This has proven something of a challenge for my sporty kid who normally plays football and cricket during the summer and never really sits still. We do have a family tablet, but it is bigger than the Fire and a little heavy for him to hold and manipulate with his wrist in a brace, but the Amazon Fire Tablet has proven a great hit.
I LOVE the internet, I love all that it has given me. It has enabled me to carve out a place for myself, a career that fits around my family. However, it really can be a double-edged sword. As much as it is filled with wonderful advice and inspiration, it also makes me regularly question myself and sometimes like today it makes me want to RAGE!
We love festivals and used to regularly go to them BC (before children) and then started visiting them again last year with the kids. I love that my boys are a little older at 11 and 12 and can now stay up and really enjoy the whole festival vibe. However, it is a little (make that a lot) different to just going to a festival on your own and you certainly need to pack more! Make sure that you have a fab time at festivals with this comprehensive festival packing checklist
