5 Reasons to Choose a Villa for your Next Family Holiday

5 Reasons to Choose a Villa for your Next Family Holiday is a paid collaboration with Clickstay. Before I was a parent my idea of a fabulous holiday was being waited on hand and foot. One where my needs always came first and foremost. However, since having children I have come to realise that if they are happy then I am happy.

5 Reasons to Choose a Villa for your Next Family Holiday - Sick of apologising for a tantruming child at dinner then a villa holiday might be the perfect location for your next family holiday.

Add into this a family that might have special needs then it becomes even more important to strike the right balance for ALL the family to be happy and feel as though they have had a holiday. Who wants to be in a hotel with a tantruming toddler or an autistic child. Also check out Whos the mummy’s tips for villa stays in Florida.

Space

Any parent that has had to lie in the bath in a hotel room whilst their toddlers go to sleep will know just how important space is when booking a family holiday. Space to relax, personal space, space to keep all the accoutrements that travel with children. Add to that space for teens and tweens to unwide and space for all the family to socialise. A holiday villa is much larger than a hotel room. It often has four to five separate rooms including a fully equipped kitchen. Space to share and space to be yourself add up to a relaxing holiday

Food

Food is always a big part of our holidays and a villa gives you the ability not only to use a kitchen but often they have an outdoor kitchen too along with a fabulous area to socialise. Just like this Clickstay villa in Majorca.

This is such a big pull for us and there is also a big difference between a self-catering space and the fully equipped kitchen that you get in villas. When we go on holiday we love the flexibility that this gives us. The husbeast loves to BBQ and both the boys’ love exploring local supermarkets, markets and local cuisine. So we love the ability to cook (and the value of self-catering) but also the ability to eat out when we chose or even order a takeaway. This becomes even more important when you have fussy eaters or an unadventurous palate.

A Private Pool

Another big one for us. I have two water babies and have never been a fan of family pools on holiday. I always found it harder to keep an eye on my children when they merged into a seething mass of hyper 7-year-olds! We like the freedom to use the pool as and when we like. In addition to the fact that there is nothing stopping a midnight skinny dip!

A private pool is a big advantage of booking a villa in Florida especially as they are covered.

Plus Maxi couldn’t do this in a public or hotel pool!

Big Families or Multi Generational Travel

Villas are great for multi-generational holidays, large families or even holidays with friends. They often come with games rooms and more than enough space to cohabit over the holiday. Considering the space and amenities available, holiday villas offer great value for money especially when it comes to larger groups.

Just imagine sharing this 7 bed/5 bath villa near Athens. There is enough rooms that you can go and cool off after a heated game of monopoly.

Flexibility

A villa holiday gives you the freedom to make your own choices about flights, car hire and travel insurance. You can shop around for the best deals and choose the most convenient flight times. This is even more key when you have a large group travelling as you can choose to travel from different airports at different times.
