What You’ll Need:

I always print my printables directly onto 160 gsm cardstock using my Epson Ecotank Printer rather than regular paper, this way they are a little more durable and the pens do not bleed through to the other side. However, if you do not have a home printer then just pop to a library and use theirs. To extend the life and suitability of paper puppets I like to laminate them, but if you don’t need a laminator self adhesive laminating sheets are amazing.

Steps to Make Your Angel Puppet:
1. Print the template: Download and print either the pre-colored or the color-in version of the angel puppet.
2. Color (if needed): Use your favorite coloring supplies to decorate the color-in template and give your angel a festive touch. You could even add glittered feathers to the wings or use fabric off cutes for the outfits.
3. Cut out the pieces: Carefully cut out the various parts of the angel, including the wings, arms, and trumpet. Be sure to cut out the small circles where the split pins will go.
4. Assemble the puppet: Using split pins, attach the arms, wings, and other movable parts. Once connected, the angel can be moved into different positions.
5. Make the Puppet Movable
- Make sure the arms are in the “down position” and that the thread runs straight across before knotting the other end.
- Repeat for the legs.
- Add a connecting piece of string between the arms and the legs – this mustn’t be too tight (the arms won’t move) or too loose (the legs won’t move). PS – this is our monkey puppet!
6. Display or Play: Hang your articulated angel on your Christmas tree, place it on your mantle, or let your kids enjoy playing with their new puppet.
