This easy ballerina craft is a great DIY for kids who love to dance and making these adorable ballerinas is made so much easier with our silhouette templates.
Instructions:
- Download and Print the Template:
Start by downloading and printing the free ballerina template. You can print it directly onto colored paper or print it on white paper and let the kids color in the different parts themselves.
- Cut Out the Pieces:
Carefully cut out the ballerina’s head, arms, ballerinas tutus, legs, and shoes. This is a great way for kids to practice their scissor skills.
- Assemble the Ballerina:
Once all the pieces are cut out, help your child glue them together. Start by adding ballet slippers and then attaching the legs to the dress, followed by the head, and then glue the ballerina’s arms on top.
- Decorate the Ballerina:
Now comes the fun part—decorating! Let your child use markers, colored pencils, glitter and cotton balls to create a unique design for the ballerina’s dress. They can add embellishments such as glitter to make the tutu sparkle or use stickers for added flair. To make the tiny cotton balls we used a piece of cotton wool and tore it into small pieces and rolled in our hand. You could even make a cupcake liner tutu or use tissue paper.
- Add Final Touches:
Once your ballerina is assembled and decorated, allow the glue to dry. You can even add a loop of string to the top of the head to turn the ballerina into a hanging decoration for a room or Christmas tree.
