Make a Stunning Dried Orange Slice Wreath

Supplies Needed:
- Fresh oranges (3-4)
- A sharp knife
- Wire Baking Tray
- Wire wreath frame or sturdy cardboard cut into a ring
- Twine, floral wire, or hot glue gun
- Ribbon for hanging or decoration (optional)
Steps to Create Your Wreath:
1. Prepare the Orange Slices:
Slice the oranges into even, thin slices (around 1/4 inch thick). Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

2. Dry the Orange Slices:
We have a blog post dedicated to the best way to do dry orange slices Having perfected it over many years

3. Assemble the Wreath Base:
Use a wire wreath form or cut out a sturdy cardboard ring. If using cardboard. Don’t make the mistake I did and not use one as I had to go back and add it later!

4. Attach the Orange Slices:
Secure the dried orange slices to the base with twine, floral wire, or hot glue. Overlap the slices slightly for a full and textured effect.

5. Add Finishing Touches:
Decorate with a bow, greenery, or cinnamon sticks for extra flair.

6. Hang and Enjoy:
Attach a ribbon or hook and display your beautiful wreath on a door, wall, or mantelpiece.
Tips for Success:
- Make sure your orange slices are completely dry to prevent mould.
- Dont use parchment paper or a solid baking sheet for drying your orange slices – a wire rack allows the moisture to evaporate as does opening the oven door ever 30 minutes!
- Experiment with adding other natural elements, like star anise, pinecones, or dried cranberries.
- Store your wreath in a dry place when not in use to keep it looking fresh if you want to keep it. I put mine outside for the wildlife to eat after New Year.
