Can I use Acrylic Paint to decorate Candles?
I have seen people using regular acrylic paint to decorate candles, however, I am unsure of how safe it is to burn acrylic paints even non-toxic ones as they haven’t been tested.

Instructions to Make Your Own Valentine’s Day Painted Candles:
Prepare Your Workspace: Lay down newspaper or scrap paper to protect your work surface from any stray paint. Ensure your candles are clean and dry before starting. This will help the paint adhere properly. I gave them a gentle rub with kitchen roll.

Plan Your Design: Decide on the designs you’d like to paint. Hearts are a classic choice for Valentine’s Day, but you can also add initials, love quotes, or floral patterns. Sketching your ideas on paper beforehand can help guide you as you paint.

Paint Your Candles: Using Wax pens, carefully draw hearts or your chosen design directly onto the candle’s surface. For hearts, start by drawing a “V” shape and then curve the tops to create a classic heart shape. Feel free to experiment with different sizes and colors to make your design pop. Allow each layer to dry before adding additional details. We also used a brush set to paint onto the candle as it gives more accuracy and control, especially for the little hearts.

Display or Gift: Place your finished candles on a romantic table setting, use them to decorate your home, or wrap them up as thoughtful gifts for friends and family. These candles make beautiful centerpieces or additions to a cosy Valentine’s evening.

Tips for Success:
Test Your wax pen: Before applying paint to the candle, test the pen on a piece of scrap paper to ensure the paint flows smoothly.
Keep It Simple: If you’re crafting with kids, stick to simple shapes like hearts or polka dots for an easy and fun experience.
Pair with a Note: To make your gift even more meaningful, pair your painted candle with a handwritten Valentine’s card.
