When I think of Spring, I think of bunnies, lambs and chicks and these pop-up spoon chicks are perfect for this time of year. They are perfect for Spring or Easter and are a super cute DIY craft.
These were inspired by some fabulous chick placeholders that I saw a few years ago on Crafts by Amanda and the fact that I found a large pack of plastic spoons in our garage.

How to make Pop-up Spoon Chicks
We painted our spoons with acrylic paint. This means that we didn’t need to sand the spoons. If you are using acrylic paint bear in mind that it can stain fabric. I love the idea of using floral foam to stand the spoons into paint like Amanda did. We just placed ours on some scrap paper and painted one side and then the other.
Mark your chicks faces on the back of the spoon with a sharpie. We kept it simple with just eyes in black and a triangle in orange for the beak.
We cut out a cracked egg on white card and then Maxi added patterns using sharpies.
Mini decided that he wanted to cover his eggs in washi tape.
The boys then cut a strip of card and taped it to the rear of the eggs to hold the spoon handle.
Then the chicks can hatch out of their eggs.
