What Is Christmas Who Am I?
Christmas Who Am I? is a guessing game where everyone knows your character except you. Your job is to work out who you are by asking questions that the other players can answer with “yes” or “no”.
You might be a famous reindeer, a snowman or a character from a favourite Christmas film. Ask the right questions and you’ll soon narrow it down—but expect a few funny guesses along the way!

What You’ll Need
Getting ready is simple. Gather:
- The free Christmas Who Am I? printable
- A printer and paper or card
- Scissors
- Headbands or a little tape to hold the cards in place
- A timer, if you’d like to play timed rounds
Thicker paper or card will help stop players from seeing the character name through the back.
How to Play Christmas Who Am I?
1. Print and prepare your cards
Print the character pages and cut out the cards. Before you begin, look through the names and set aside any that your group might not know.
For younger children, start with familiar characters such as Santa, Rudolph, Frosty and Olaf.
2. Give everyone a mystery character
Have another player choose your card and place it in a headband or attach it where everyone else can see it. Make sure you don’t peek at the name!
If you’d prefer not to wear the cards, take turns holding one above your head with the name facing the other players.
3. Take turns asking questions
On your turn, ask one question that can be answered with “yes” or “no”. For example:
- Am I human?
- Am I an animal?
- Do I have magical powers?
- Do I help Santa?
- Am I in a Christmas film?
- Do I have a red nose?
After the group answers, play passes to the next person.
4. Make your guess
When you think you know who you are, use your turn to guess. A correct answer means you’ve solved your card! If you’re wrong, keep asking questions on your next turn.
Play until everyone has guessed their character, or give out fresh cards and begin another round.

Fun Ways to Change the Game
Play against the clock. Give each player one minute to ask questions and guess their character. See how many cards your group can solve.
Team up. Pair younger children with an adult or older sibling so they can work out their questions together.
Try a clue round. Instead of asking questions, one player draws a card and gives clues while everyone else guesses. Just remember not to say the character’s name!
Add some Christmas acting. Use the cards for a festive game of charades. Can you act out the Grinch or Frosty without saying a word?
Tips for a Fun Family Game
Start with broad questions before moving on to specific details. “Am I an animal?” will usually help more at the beginning than guessing individual names.
Choose cards to suit your group, too. The full set includes characters from a range of films and stories, so a quick sort before playing will help keep the game enjoyable for everyone.
And if someone gets stuck, offer a small hint. The aim is to share a laugh and enjoy spending time together!
