I might not yet have teens, but they do use a different language to me and for others that need some translation then Center Parcs have come to the rescue with their dictionary of teenage slangage (slangage? is that even a word?).
Reading this it has made me realise that I am really quite strict with the boys and if I hear them using slang, I ask them to use the “correct” word instead. I remember my parents being the same with me. I was always made to use the correct pronunciation at home, although I did use slang at school and outside the home and I am under no illusion that the boys will be the same!
