Can you feel Spring in the air yet? I think I can and I have started thinking about Spring crafts for kids and spring crafts for preschoolers. We have a fabulous selection of crafts that kids will love here. I love Spring, the garden is filled with vibrant colour after a long, cold winter and the days are getting longer fast. I LOVE spring because it means more outdoor time, butterflies, birds, bugs, flowers and spring showers.

We love paper craft here in the Mad House. Children enjoy being creative, and they are happy to spend time painting, sticking and cutting coloured paper making fun craft items at home. Paper crafting can be done with just a few stationery pieces that are inexpensive to buy. Try some of these simple ideas next time the weather keeps you and the kids indoors:
These adorable simple fingerprint heart ornaments are made using baking soda clay and are perfect for valentine’s day. They are a really easy kid craft and inexpensive to make and make great valentines keepsakes or gifts. We are using ours as part of our valentines cards but they also make ace Christmas ornaments or for Mother’s Day.
As my boys’ get older encouraging them to be creative is becoming harder and hard but they both loved making these DIY etched wooden heart keyrings perhaps it had something to do with the fact that they were using a burning tool! I am warning you this is so addictive we now want to etch everything that is wooden! So hold on to your hats folks as this is a great craft for older kids and adults alike.
Do you have a dedicated workspace or craft room at home? I have just got a proper desk from Lakeland Furniture to replace the Ikea table I was working at. I am lucky that I am able to do my job from home and where I work has evolved over the years. Initially, when the boys were younger, I worked at the kitchen table or wherever they were playing. I had a laptop and used that to do my work and I kept all out arts, crafts and work stuff in a large cupboard in the dining room. It worked really well for me to be able to put in more »
You can really create some beautiful artwork and patterns by printing flowers with celery stalks or other vegetables. You can use the artwork for Mother’s Day cards, valentines day or for wrapping paper or you can just have fun experimenting with different colours and patterns. Printing is something that really appeals to kids of all ages and adults alike. We were delighted at just how much the tightly packed stalks of celery resembled a flower. Printing is such an exciting art activity, there is something delightful about dipping your object in the paint and waiting to see what pattern it makes.
We are busy celebrating here and we wanted to make something with the metallic confetti we had leftover from our Balloon Confetti Poppers, so we decided to make some hot glue confetti numbers. We are using our hot glue confetti numbers window clings, but they would also look ace on skewers as a cake topper.
There is nothing better than receiving a kids made card and Father’s Day is no exception. I love getting creative with the MiniMads and coming up with ideas for this years card for MadDad. The boys love their father and there is something about watching the Husbeast with his boys that makes me go weak at the knees.
Who does love a homemade gift. They are much more thoughtful that a purchased one. I love the thought and love that goes into them, plus they are often less expensive too. We have some amazing links to last weeks Fabulously Frugal, so please do keep them coming. I know that these gifts would make a wonderful Mothers Day present. Homemade Gifts
