As you have probably guessed we LOVE advent and Christmas here in The Mad House. Last year we provided you with two sets of advent acts of kindness free printables. One Christmas tree shaped and the other in a tag style. This year we have a real treat for you with our advent acts of kindness free printables. These are perfect for using in conjunction with The Kindness Elves.
This year we are decking the halls with Dobbies and sharing with you our advent with a difference. We have been busy filling up our stockings with acts of kindness and hope that you will love these watercolour stockings filled with each of the 50 acts of advent kindness as much as we do. The idea is that you can choose 24 that are appropriate for your family, there really is no need to do them all (unless you want to)!
We really love using advent and the acts of kindness as a way of refocusing advent as a time of giving rather than receiving. It started as a way to try and take the combat all the commercialism of Christmas, as a way of ensuring that my children understand the true magic of Christmas comes from people’s hearts and the love that we have.
Free advent acts of kindness printables
In addition to our beautiful stockings with the acts of kindness on, thanks to collaborating with Dobbies, we are also delighted to be able to share with you a blank stocking of each design so you can add your own acts of kindness on to them or even use them as an advent calendar and number them.
We are also happy this year to share with you a blank set of our stockings so that you can use them as you want as long as it is not for commercial purposes.
Free Christmas Stocking Printables
If you do use our Christmas stocking printables then we would love to see them, so do come and share them on The Mad House facebook page. Also share any of your Advent acts of kindness with us on twitter or Instagram using #AdventKindness hashtag.

Such a lovely, special way to celebrate advent – really in the spirit of Christmas.
What an amazing idea! You are so right about reminding kids that it’s more about the giving than the receiving. It is so easy to lose track of it in all the dazzle and ads and gifts and lights outside. It all becomes about the gifts and not the meaning and spirit of the holiday. I think you have a great idea here and I am going to try and do something similar with my kids. Thank you for the inspiration!
I love this idea, I should make them for the office with things like “I will wash up today” and “I will empty the bin” saves me then constantly doing it x
What a lovely idea! I don’t celebrate Christmas but this is something everyone should do.
Such a lovely idea – have pinned to remind me to print it out!
What an amazing idea, downloading now! Thank you x
That is a really lovely idea
this is such a fab idea. With my kids now in their teens, this would be a good thing to get them to think about others at this time of year, and to be grateful for everything they do have. Our neighbours are all retired, so there are some fun jobs for them to do as well to help others. Thanks for sharing x
I love this idea! We try to show our children that giving is as nice as receiving (all through the year, not only at Christmas, of course) and this is a lovely addition. I often put jokes or little treats to do together in their advent calendars, and this year I will definitely be using this idea too. Thanks for sharing the printable 🙂

I really love this idea, Christmas is about not being selfish, sharing. These stockings really make that point. Thank you, lovely post x
Saved the printables onto my computer, to have handy for december!xx
This is the most perfect post for me to read today. I do an activity advent calendar with my girls and this year, because they are both at school, i wanted to introduce acts of kindess as well and you have given me some amazing ideas!!! Thank you so so much x
These are lovely – I am going to download them next week and take part in spreading some joy 🙂
Thanks Jen
Nice idea – it would be good to bring some kindness into advent and to escape all that consumerism a bit.
I am looking forward to seeing how you get on with these, it is such a great idea!
This is a lovely idea!

I love the stockings and they would be great hanging from our little snowmen
What a brilliant idea Jen, I absolutely love this. It’s a great way to teach kids about being kind and doing something for someone else 🙂
Now my kids are getting a little older we are going to spend a lot more time this year talking about and giving to others, which they need to learn is just as important, if not more so, than all the receiving they do! Putting these into an advent calendar will be a great step towards achieving this.
