Did you see that we went to Blackpool as a family over the summer holidays? We had THE BEST time. Blackpool has really changed since I went there last 20 years ago. Blackpool is certainly back!
Blackpool certainly is a wonderful place for families to visit and they have just brought out their ‘The Kids Resort Guide’, an interactive guide, written by Blackpool’s biggest critics… the kids. It shows Blackpool’s top attractions through the eyes of a child.
Blackpool is full of family friendly activities and places to visit and we only managed to skim the surface during our weekend there and we did a LOT.
We visited Madame Tussauds, The Sealife Center, The top of the Tower, Blackpool Zoo and had an amazing time at the Pleasure Beach – take a look at the boys review of the top places to visit in Blackpool when you’re eight and nine here.
Blackpool is full of great places to eat too and we had some amazing food including the obligatory fish and chips and icecreams.
We took a trip on a tram and we had an amazing time watching Mamma Mia.
It has been the place the boys have talked about the most since we visited and a place they are desperate to return to.
We stayed just outside Blackpool at Ribby Hall and I am hoping that they invite us back to review their Winter Wonderland! Ribby Hall really is the perfect place to stay with kids and makes a great base or place to stay and enjoy the activities they have to offer. I so need to try out their spa!
Looks fantastic – didn’t realise there was so much to do! My dh used to go to Blackpool a lot for hols when he was growing up. I’m going to send him this to see how (if!) it’s changed….
Great idea to do a “by kids for kids” post on this as many presume (incorrectly) that Blackpool is only for the older generation!
I’ve not been to Blackpool for years and years – you had me sold with the first picture, I’m a sucker for a good knicker-bocker-glory!
we’ve still never been to Blackpool – should really take a daytrip one day soon!
The last time we went to Blackpool was to visit the now closed Doctor Who exhibition. It seems a lot has changed since then.
We haven’t been back to Blackpool since a rather disastrous weekend many years ago! It sounds like it is a great place for kids though so we shall have to try it out with our two!
I have not been to Blackpool since we went to the illuminations as children. I think it does suffer from a bad reputation as being a little run down but it sounds like a lot has changed and it’s worth a visit.
Believe it or not, the only time I went to Blackpool was when I lived near Manchester aged 18!!! Looks like this place has changed a lot. Love your photo collage 😉
I’ve never been to Blackpool but it sound alike it’s a great place for a family trip. What a clever idea to bring out a kids’ guide too.
Blackpool was a regular holiday place for me as a child. We used to head across there in October to see the illuminations. I have some very happy memories of Blackpool and yet it’s never really crossed my mind to take my children over there. Time for a re-think!
Despite being a Northerner I have only been to Blackpool once, to go on the Big One! There does seem like there is loads for kids x
Blackpool to me = hen/stag dos – and it wasn’t very pleasant when we visited about 6 years ago! Glad to hear that there is tons for kids to do!
One thing I love about Blackpool is getting on the tram and going down the seafront x
Sounds like a great place to visit! I hope I’ll get to UK one day. There are so many places where I would love to visit.
Blackpool has been on our ‘to do’ list for a while now. I hope we do manage to visit this year. At least for that ice-cream!
I realy want to plan a trip to Blackpool soon – I can’t believe how much there is to do there!!
I’ve never been to Blackpool but it looks lovely. When I was an events organiser I used to use Ribby Hall so it’s a blast from the past to hear it’s name again 🙂 x
