Build a Brain Hat – Free Printable to Learn the Parts of the Brain

Looking for a fun, hands-on way to teach your kids about the parts of the brain? This Build a Brain Hat free printable is the perfect blend of crafting and learning! Whether you’re homeschooling, supporting classroom topics, or just exploring human anatomy with your curious child, this printable brain hat makes the science of the brain accessible, interactive, and fun.

What Is a Brain Hat?

A brain hat is a simple paper craft that kids can colour, cut out, and assemble into a wearable hat. But this is more than just a craft project – it’s a creative educational tool that helps children visualise and learn the major parts of the brain. Once assembled, your child will proudly wear their labelled brain hat and likely want to share all the fascinating facts they’ve learned.

What’s Included in the Free Printable?

The printable pack includes:

  • A labelled diagram of the brain from different views (side and top)
  • Clear lines for cutting and assembling the pieces
  • Space to colour and personalise each section
  • Labels for key brain parts such as:
    • Frontal Lobe

I always print my printables directly onto 160 gsm cardstock using my Epson Ecotank Printer rather than regular paper, this way they are a little more durable and the pens do not bleed through to the other side. However, if you do not have a home printer then just pop to a library and use theirs.
