Make your own Ring Wing Glider 2

Make your own Ring Wing Glider is a collaborative post with The Year of Engineering.  Anyone that knows me will confirm that I am big fan of encouraging kids to be creative and imaginative and try and get them off screens. This is one of the reasons I love #TheHolidayMakers campaign from the Year of Engineering. They are a series of challenges (one a week) over the summer holidays that parents can do with their children aged seven to sixteen to keep them active and to inspire them about engineering.

2 Ingredient Fromage Frais Silly Putty – #FeedTheirPlayfulNature 8

2 Ingredient Fromage Frais Silly Putty is a paid collaboration for the #FeedTheirPlayfulNature campaign sponsored by Munch Bunch Organic.  Mini always has a packed lunch for school and I am always on the lookout for something to add to his lunch box and were delighted to see that Munch Bunch Organic comes in pouches perfect for lunch on the go.

Over 150 Low cost and no cost summer activities 12

Summer holidays, you either love them or hate them.  I am never sure about which camp I am in.  I love spending time with the children but do worry about the cost of summer activities.  I relish not having to get up each morning and giving up the school routine, but I don’t like hearing the words “I’m Bored”  That is why I came up with the bored jar (about four years ago).

DIY LEGO Fidget Spinners 12

We are deep in the middle of the fidget spinner craze here and both of my boys have a number of different fidget spinners.  However, this post has been totally inspired by Sarah from Frugal Fun for Boys and Girls DIY LEGO Fidget Spinner.  The boys came home from school and spend 20 minutes on the Ipad whilst I prepared some snacks and then the next three hours engineering their own DIY LEGO Fidget Spinners.

12 of the Best DIY Fidget Spinners on the web for kids 16

Have your kids joined the fidget spinner or fidget toy craze yet?  If they have then they will love this post with great DIY fidget spinners for you to make.  I have long had a love for fidget toys, especially as Mini is on the spectrum and they are really great at helping keep him calm and also help hm concentrate better.  So I have no issue with the new craze for all things fidget.  In fact, we have found them a sanity saver in the Mad House.

Popsicle Stick Harmonica or a lolly stick harmonica 18

Your kids will love making music with this simple DIY Popsicle Stick Harmonica.  They are so easy to make.   Fab has sent us lots of lolly sticks to make into fun and creative designs, so we decided to have a go at making a lolly stick harmonica or a popsicle stick harmonica (depended on where in the world you are reading from)! These were so simple to make, but we have had hours experimenting with what sounds we can make and the boys with all their friends have made a band!
