A birthday treasure hunt 2

These are the clues we used, which I took from the Real Treasure Hunt website.

Refrigerator
A clue to find where you keep things cold
Where to go next is what you’ll be told.

Computer
Letters, a screen, and even a mouse,
look around, you’ll find it somewhere in the house.

Bed
When it gets late and you turn out the light
This is the place you’ll be found each night.

Socks
You’ll need to think hard to solve the next clue
Find a covering for your foot, but it’s not a shoe.

Oven
Turn up the heat it will help you bake
Cookies, casseroles, even a cake.

Shower
A place where water falls down like rain
after it falls on you it goes down the drain.

Microwave
A metal box with numbers is usually the norm
For this thing that helps us get our food warm.

A Birthday with The Wiggles 1

Mini had a fab time opening his presents this morning.  This year is really the first year that he has understood what is happening and has been counting down his birthday since his cousins on May 31st!  He was almost too excited to get to sleep the night before! The joy on his face for his presents was wonderful, we got him a scooter and an Uno game, but his best present so far has been his Star Wars the Clone Wars Clone Trooper Outfit from Gran. Now the thing is my boy adores The Wiggles.  I have my mother in law to thank for it, as she was the one […]

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Party – Maxi’s 5th Birthday 4

I am lucky, Maxi doesn’t crave big expensive parties, he is happy with a few friends and family round and things to do and quality time with his fiends.  This makes me happy and I am more than happy to oblige whenever I can. Last year this found me making, baking and decorating cakes one day after my discharge from hospital after my double mastectomy with my drains in.  So whatever we did this year it was bound to be easier! Maxi asked for a Hungry Caterpillar Party, so I scoured the Internet for inspiration and I needn’t have worried at all.  So with no further ado I give you Maxi’s […]

Getting Maxi – Part Three Coming Home

So the story continues…. We were allowed to bring Maxi home 3 days after I had given birth, my mum had gone back to North Yorkshire, so that we could spent some time on our own, just the three of us and the two cats. So we popped Maxi in to his car seat and left, just like that.  No one came and checked if we were going to be suitable parents, if we knew how to look after him or any such thing. The first thing we did was make a trip to Waitrose.  I was so sure I would breast feed that we didn’t have any supplies, so we […]

Creative update and Nightmares in Children 13

Well with the laptop still not being well, I have been busy in the craft room.  MaxiMad’s best friend is 5 tomorrow, so with money still being very tight, I have made some presents for him. Firstly I made a birthday Crown.  The inspiration for this was taken from Amanda Soules Creative Family.  I now have two for the boys cut out. I have also made him a pencil roll and popped some double ended pencils in it. Finally inspired by Beki over at The rambling of an everyday mother, I have made him a monster, I even went to Argos and bought the same tea towels, although mine looks very […]

A homemade Girls Present – Bag and Purse with Beads 7

MaxiMad was off to a birthday party on Saturday and we only got the invite on Tuesday.  With me being in hospital I have not had the chance to go out and find anything suitable and I only have presents suitable for boys in our stash at the moment. So I had a chat with Maxi Mad and we decided to make a small drawstring bag and a purse and fill it with lovely wooden beads and elastic for making bracelets and such. We also stamped her name on with permanent fabric ink, for the personal touch.  He came in to the study and picked which fabric he liked for her and helped […]
