RIP Mr Smudge

Yesterday we made the decision that we have been dreading making, but both knew was coming, we had to have our beloved cat Mr Smudge (our rather large and old white cat) put to sleep. He was 15.  He was my first baby, one of two brothers that we got after I miscarried twins at 20 weeks 15 years ago. He had been with us through thick and thin and we couldn’t bear to see him deteriorate in this way and decided that the time had come to stop looking for what was wrong and let him die with dignity.  To save him from further pain, to learn to live with more »

The indignity of being Mr Smudge 3

This wonderful post from Bad Penny at The Hen House made me think about our cat.  He was one of a pair that we got many moons ago (14 years in fact) after I miscarried twins at 20 weeks.  They were our first baby’s and we love them dearly.  We only have one left in our life now a wonderful OAP who goes by the title of Mr Smudge.  It used to be just smudge, but so many people kept calling him a she that we didn’t want he to get a complex so the Mr was introduced. Introducing Mr Smudge aka TheCookingFat

Mr Smudge our large white cat has been with us for 13 years and used to be part of a double act with his partner in crime Snowey, who sadly left us just over 3 years ago. He is a grand old long haired cat, who tolerates the MiniMads and loved to be fussed over by grown ups, any grown up and leaves us little presents and hair all over the place.
