Over 101 Ideas for Summer Activities for Teenagers is a paid collaboration with Goodfella’s Romano Pizza. As my boys are getting older I am finding that keeping them entertained over the summer is getting more expensive and it appears that I am not alone in finding it pricey, A study by Goodfella’s Pizza discovered that during the six weeks summer holiday parents spend an average of £127 a child to stop their offspring becoming bored. “I’m Bored” is one of the phrases that I have banned here, in fact over the years I have used it to my advantage with our Bored Jars. So I have partnered up with Goodfellas and their more »
Easter Egg Hunts for Teenagers is a paid collaboration in conjunction with Cadbury. My boys are in the tween and teen years now and I really want to keep things fun and try and keep the magic of childhood alive for as long as possible so when Cadbury sent us a massive selection of Easter Eggs I decided to look into Easter Egg hunts for teenagers.
How gorgeous are these DIY Unicorn Easter Eggs? Such a super cute and simple Easter egg craft project, perfect for any unicorn lovers out there. Plus, unlike the typical Easter egg activity of dying them colours, this DIY is totally mess-free. With a little paper, some sharpies and a little time you can have a blessing of Unicorns (yep, a blessing is their collective noun).
My home is lived in and is nowhere near a show home. In fact, the husbeast commented last night that it was a good job we liked throws on the sofa as we washed yet another one that was covered in mud from one of our boys (or it could have been Alvin)! So I decided to look into interior updates for non-Pinterest worth homes (the image below is my bedroom).
As my boys’ get older encouraging them to be creative is becoming harder and hard but they both loved making these DIY etched wooden heart keyrings perhaps it had something to do with the fact that they were using a burning tool! I am warning you this is so addictive we now want to etch everything that is wooden! So hold on to your hats folks as this is a great craft for older kids and adults alike.
This fabulous Whoville Christmas Tree is inspired by the classic Dr.Suess How the Grinch Stole Christmas (UK Link/US Link)! Do you know that it is 60 years since it was first published and HarperCollins sent me a fabulous 60th anniversary edition of the book which totally was the inspiration for this Green Ginch tree!
10 Things I love about Winter is a paid collaborative post in association with TruPrint.co.uk. One thing I love about living in the UK is the distinct seasons. Although I am going to admit that I am not a fan of the shorter days I do love winter too and I have been asked by Truprint in association with their #picturesintopresents campaign to share my favorite winter moments. The campaign is all about making the most of those special captured moments, rather than them just sitting on our phones. I am a big fan of anything that encourages to use and share those photo. Each year I make a calendar for my Mother in more »
How adorable are these owl cupcakes all made by Mini with Peanut Butter flavour Oreos. We have been challenged by Oreo to produce a recipe using one of their exciting new flavours range that most suited our personality. The options were Choc’o Brownie flavour Oreo – smooth, Mint flavour Oreo – cool, Peanut Butter flavour Oreo – nutty or Strawberry Cheesecake flavour Oreo – fruity. Well seen as we are The Mad House there really was no choice – it had to be nutty!

Summer holidays, you either love them or hate them. I am never sure about which camp I am in. I love spending time with the children but do worry about the cost of summer activities. I relish not having to get up each morning and giving up the school routine, but I don’t like hearing the words “I’m Bored” That is why I came up with the bored jar (about four years ago).
