It can be hard to find a weekend break that fit’s all family needs, in fact it can be pretty impossible, especially when you have two overactive boys aged seven and eight, a husband that works very hard all week and thinks weekends are for relaxing and me, who just doesn’t want to cook and wants a little me time.
Well, I think that we might just have found the holy grail. Enter Center Parcs, Whinfell Forest. We had never been to Center Parcs before and we had a blast. It was great fun and there was something for all of us.
We drove to Center Parcs on Friday afternoon and spent the weekend there and just look at what we managed to cram in.
My boys are pretty sporty and have no fear so we had an active weekend and they conquered the climbing wall.
They even managed the aerial challenge, which I have to admit that I bottled. Oh yes, I got one foot on the tyres and froze! Thankfully I can say the staff are amazing and they had me back on solid ground before the boys could laugh at me!
We really did have a super weekend. We made a rule to be screen free and you know what we managed it with no issues what so ever. We swam, cycled, zip wired, walked, looked for red squirrels, rock climbed, abseiled, rope climbed, played football, played pool, ate delicious food, played board games, sat in front of a log fire and much much more.
I have so much more to say, but don’t want this post to overwhelm you, so I will be posting more over the next couple of weeks.
If you would like to be a Center Parcs family blogger like me, then why not enter the latest competition over at Tots100.
Disclosure: We are Center Parcs family bloggers.
seems lie lots of fun, i have no kids yet to take to center parks yet, but maybe when my nephews are old enough, as they are very adventurous and very active 3 year old twins
I’ve always wanted to go to a centrparc! I can’t watch the videos at the Moment but when im at the computer I’ll certainly be checking them out!
these family holiday breaks are fabulous and always have soo much for the family to do x
I agree Centre Parcs is an amazing holiday. We go every year and it is great to see you enjoying it with older kids as we have found it is really great with a baby too – everything has ramps for prams, restaurants are accommodating, activities are great and the spa is amazing for relaxation. We have a brand new Centre Parcs opening near us in Woburn soon and I can’t wait – I really want to go on a day pass to the spa!!
It does look loads of fun!
We’ve only been to Elveden (which looks very similar) which we loved, but sadly it’s not a good place for those of us with allergies :S Apparently Whinfell is different (trees/pollens etc) so we might have to try it!
We went to their Longleat park last year and had an absolutely brilliant time- hope to go back next year – this years the pennies are all for moving house! Glad you had a great time!
We loved out Centre Parcs holiday a couple of years ago. Their parks really do offer so much to do. We managed to cram lots in with 2 pre-schoolers but reading this really does show just how much more there is for the older kids – can’t wait to go back!
We’ve never been to Centre Parcs but it does look like it’s somewhere we should visit. The rock climbing wall looks like fun!
Wow it looks like great fun! I went there with work and really enjoyed it but I know I would enjoy it way more with my kids 😉
Oh you lucky things! I’ve only been to Centre Parcs once and that was years and years ago. I’d love to go again. I think my boys aged 8 and 10 would adore all the physical opportunities too.
Centre Park always seems like such a fab place to go on holiday x
Oh wow Jen you guys did so much. Love the videos, just looked like you had the best time there and really made the most of it. Best of luck in the competition 🙂

Looks like you had a fantastic time. There is truly so much to do there isn’t there? I haven’t been for a few years, the last time was when I was pregnant with my twins so didn’t get to do many activities :-/ x
