I have always loved playhouses and encouraging the kids to play outside no matter what the weather. What with the weather in the UK being inclement, to say the least, a playhouse is a great investment for any family. When it comes to playhouses the cooler the better, so here in conjunction with What Shed we bring you our coolest playhouses for kids.

Playhouses come in all shapes and sizes and there are a few things to consider before making your purchase. As far as I am concerned size matters and the bigger the better! You want a playhouse to last as long as possible so consider the size of your garden, the age of your kids and also your budget. You also want to consider the material it is made from and the weather in your country too.
The Coolest Playhouses for Kids
We love the height of this traditional log cabin style playhouse.

My boys are obsessed with all thinks Tolkien and this Hobbit house would be loved by any Lord of the Rings fans.
We can not believe that this is even a playhouse!
A playhouse with a slide would make my boys extra happy. I love that it is off the grass meaning you could turn under it in to a store for all thoise wheeled toys.
I know that my boys would love this playhouse. It would turn into the perfect tween/teen den.
This next playhouse is grander than my actual home, but I would have loved this as a child and know a few kids that would like to live in it.
What is not to love about a clubhouse with a telescope to see who is coming or to star gaze.
Oh and just look at this DIY clubhouse with a twister slide and a climbing wall. Every boys dream.
Anyone that knows me will attest to the fact that I love all things mid-century modern and this glass playhouse as that vibe. OK, not somewhere to hide in, but somewhere to enjoy all that nature has to offer.
Playhouses are great for encouraging outdoor play as well as providing a shelter from the sun and the rain. They are brilliant for imaginative and small world play. My boys used to use their playhouse a lot when they were smaller. We had a kitchen in it and I was often served a delicious cup of mud tea or leaf soup!
Do your kids have a playhouse? Do come and share a picture of it with us.
Oh I love the one with the grass roof and the polyhedron, I could happily make them my den, too bad for my boys!
Wow, those are very cool playhouses indeed. Am I too old at forty-something to crave the Polyhedron playhouse as a writing den?
Oh my god wow… that mansion playhouse is something else, it looks bigger than my flat x
I can’t believe some of those structures are playhouses – I could practically live in that American Craftsman Playhouse!
I have always wanted to buy my kids a playhouse but our budget never stretched that far. These are amazing.
That polyhedron one is epic!!! I know Syd would love a playhouse, but our garden is a bit small for one really.
I am wanting the Polyhendron House for my man cave, what an amazing thing it is!
I want the turquoise one with the slide!
Oh, my goodness, Jenny, these are amazing, if Emma gets one she will not want to live with us anymore, lol!xx
I love the polyhedron one – in fact, I’d like it for me.
Gosh I’ve never even seen playhouses like these before, my kids would have been been away when they were younger. Mich x
Wow these playhouses are amazing ! I have never seen anything like some of them. I bet every child would be happy with any of these. I am planning on getting my two year old daughter a playhouse for her birthday but I doubt it will be as big or grand as these ones x
Wow, I would love one of these! I just need a garden big enough (and then someone to buy it for me!)
Ooh they’re all lovely. We’re getting a shed for our garden next week and I really considers getting a little summerhouse instead x
Love this! We are most of the way through building a playhouse for our little – a tiny house more than a child’s playhouse really 🙂 Such inspiration!
Love the look of these, if only our garden was big enough x
Wow these are absolutely stunning. Never mind the kids as an adult I would like one of them.
Wow, playhouses sure have come a long way since I was a kid, lol. I could quite easily replace my current abode with one of these and quite honestly live happily ever after?
I want the Hobbit hole playhouse!
