It is nearly World Book Day, so I have some DIY World Book Day costume ideas for you all. Do you love or hate dressing up days at school? I used to hate them with a passion. Maxi hates dressing up. He always has, so they have always been a real challenge for me. But then along came Mini who LOVES dressing up and loves reading too, so whoop!

For this years world book day. I have made a werewolf outfit for Scream Street, which Mini is modeling here. You can get the instructions for making your own DIY warewolf dress up outfit here. I got the fur from the online marketplace eBay.co.uk
Eve though I have made a costume, Mini wants to go as Captain Underpants and Maxi in his PJ’s!

You can get loads of crafty bits for making your own costumes at online marketplace eBay.co.uk, but you can also buy readymade ones too here, and there certainly is no shame in readymade just take a look at the bottom to see what my boys went in.

Some creative ideas here. My kids love dressing up – my son went as a Minecraft character this year – he reasoned that there are books about Minecraft!!
What a fab collection! I absolutely LOVE World Book Day (or week as our school seems to spread it!) We’ve got dress-up day tomorrow and it has to be something from a David Walliams book so we’re going for Gangster Granny.

Such great ideas! On the one hand it really made me wish I was able to do even half of it. On the other hand, it made me so relieved that my two hate dressing up! We go with the “barely there” concept every year 🙂

Our school didn’t dress up for World Book day, which was a bit of a shame – but I’m sure there will be plenty of dressing up opportunities in the future, so I’ll be returning to this page!
