February may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s full of meaningful moments, cosy traditions, and opportunities to slow down and connect as a family. From seasonal festivals and kindness days to winter walks and creative crafts, here’s your February 2026 Could-Do List packed with ideas to inspire family fun all month long.

Whether you do one or two activities or tick off the whole list, these little moments can easily become traditions you look forward to every year 💕
🌟 February 1: Celebrate Imbolc
Imbolc is a Celtic festival celebrating the return of longer days and the first signs of spring, honouring Brigid, the goddess of fertility, creativity, and light.
Activity idea: Use plain candles and let kids decorate them with wax pens, beeswax sheets, or natural elements like dried flowers and herbs. Light the candles at dinner or during a family storytelling session about the changing seasons and new beginnings. This activity helps children connect with nature, history, and family traditions, while also bringing warmth and light into the home—symbolizing hope and renewal

🌟 February 2: Celebrate Candlemas
Candlemas is a Christian festival marking the presentation of Jesus at the temple and is traditionally associated with blessing candles for the year ahead.
Activity Idea: Try making candles from scratch, try melt-and-pour soy or beeswax for a simple and eco-friendly option.

🌟 February 18: Celebrate Ash Wednesday and the Start of Lent
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a traditionally penitential season of self-denial and contemplation of Jesus Christ’s sufferings. However, fasting and self-discipline have very little relevance for children, but this doesn’t mean you can not celebrate this time. In fact, the Lenten season is great for family time.
