Ford Tourneo Review

Over the summer we took four teenage boys to France and were lucky enough to be offered a Ford Tourneo for the journey. These boys’ were all taller than me and two of them were taller than the husbeast. We knew we were going to need a seven-seater, but even then most of them do not have the luggage room that is needed when you are travelling.

The Ford Tourneo is kind of like a transit van and can seat up to nine (well the husbeast told me it has the same floor plan as a Transit Connect van). I would class it as more of a Minibus than an MPV.

We opted to have the rear seats facing each other so that the boys had plenty of legroom and could face each other and interact. In fact, they had masses of room and the boot took 5 cases with ease. The seating is easy to configure as you can add and remove seats easily.

When it came to driving the husbeast did more than his fair share as I am not keen on driving on the wrong side of the road.

I am going to admit that the Ford Tourneo is not the sexiest vehicle I have driven, but it was amazing when it came to ferrying about six adults and their belongings.

Once we got used to the driving style and the placement of the gears then it was a breeze to drive. I was worried that after driving a small car I would find it really hard to drive and uncomfortable, but that wasn’t the case. Ford has packed the Tourneo with features to improve the drive and feel including power-adjustable, heated seat and adjustable steering wheel. Both these functions made is easy to swap between drivers too.

The Ford Tourneo is the biggest vehicle I have driven (not so the husbeast as he is a farmers son) and I was a little anxious about parking and such. However, it has blind spot sensors and parking camera to help you with parking and any vehicles that you might miss.

Being a BIG vehicle I was also concerned with cars on each side but the Ford Tourneo comes with sliding rear doors and also wing mirrors that fold in.

The Ford Tourneo comes with all the features you would expect in a car only it is bigger and perfect for larger families. My best friend has four children and this would have been perfect for her when they were younger and in car seats. It comes with rear ISOFIX child seat attachment points and a 5-star rating by Euro NCAP.
