One of the things that I love about the adult colouring craze is that it really helps me relax, but more than that I love that it is something that we can do as a family. So I am delighted to be able to share with you my first free mummy and me colouring pages.
Free Mummy and Me Colouring Pages
This is a set of pages designed specifically for adults and for kids by the fab Easy, Peasy and Fun. I have long been a fan of Andreaja and was delighted that she was willing to collaborate with me to bring my ideas to life.
I asked her for two similar pages, one slightly simpler than the other and also for their to be an inspirational quote too and I am delighted with her interpretation.
What are the benefits of colouring for adults and children?
Colouring has a relaxing effect because we are focussing on a singular activity. In today’s world we see multitasking as supreme, but colouring takes a certain amount of concentration and uses an area of the brain called the amygdala which is the part of our brain involved in controlling emotion that is affected by stress.
Colouring promotes co-ordination in both adults and children. It is a great fine motor skill is good for muscle control in your hands and arms, coloring can help delay loss of these important skills as we age and also increase them in young kids. It may also help fight cognitive loss, especially if we choose challenging pieces every so often

Colouring Supplies:
I am often asked what products I use and I am a big advocate of using the best supplies you can afford. It is really frustrating to use pencils that keep snapping or refuse to blend well, oh and don’t get me started on pens that bleed through the paper. I always buy the best quality I can afford, not just for me but for my kids too. I want colouring to be a joyful experience. These are mine and the
These are mine and the MiniMad’s suggestions to you. Our tried and tested favourites. When I first started colouring I just pinched the boy’s products, which is why adult colouring is so accessible and over the period of a year I now have my own supplies!

I always print my printables directly onto 160 gsm cardstock using my Epson Ecotank Printer rather than regular paper, this way they are a little more durable and the pens do not bleed through to the other side. However, if you do not have a home printer then just pop to a library and use theirs.
