Optional, you can also decorate with glitter and stickers if you chose to. I mean isn’t that what a crown is all about?

This mock St James Crown is perfect for celebrating the King's coronation. A crown that is fit for a Royal King. Free printable template to download, colour and wear.

I based this crown design on the St Edwards Crown which is part of the coronation regalia and you can find a colouring page of the St Edwards Crown here and more about how it will be used.

Start by printing off the Crown template, gems and crown topper and cutting them all out. I also have this wearable Royal Crown available on the Cricut Design Space.

Now you can colour in your crowns. We decided to use paint. I also designed a sheet of gems and a crown topper to colour or paint. If you are painting allow it to dry before moving on to the next part.

Glue the three parts of the crown together. I also placed tape along the inside to strengthen it. Double-sided tape would work really well too.

Now comes the fun part – the decorating. You can either use the gems you have coloured and stick them on with a glue stick or add stackable gems or foam stars (we used both as I mean, more is more when it comes to crowns)!

Using a hole punch you need to make a hole at the top of each point to join together with split pins.

Before you add the split pin measure the crown around the wearer’s head and cut off any excess with a small allowance to overlap and join together.

Now is the time to join together the crown. You connect the shorter ones first using the split pin and then the longer sections.

The cross and orb at the top of the crown are designed to be folded and glued onto the head of the split pin. I found that double-sided tape made this much easier.

I always print my printables directly onto 160 gsm cardstock using my Epson Ecotank Printer rather than regular paper, this way they are a little more durable and the pens do not bleed through to the other side.
