Free Summer Holiday Planner is a paid collaborative post with Very designed to showcase their range of printers. Summer holidays, you either love them or hate them. Over the years I have veered from one camp to the other and the longer my children have spent in school the more I have come to love the time off over summer. However, I have one child that loves school routine and that is where the summer holiday planner came from.
We started using one when they were in preschool before they could read and I had little images that I velcroed onto the planner. Over the years that evolved and I have quite the selection of summer printables to share with you that will help keep the kids entertained over the school holidays.
Over the years I have offered loads of free summer printables but never a simple summer holiday planner, so I decided to put one together. I am a real fan of a family calendar as it helps us all know what we are doing and helps us keep each other informed and it helps me keep track pf the summer months.
This free summer holiday planner (with days of the week) is perfect for putting in any playdates or days out you have and also to plan each day in advance. If you are a teacher then this is a great resource for a pre-Summer holidays lesson activity to send children on their break full of inspiration and free activities. Things they can do over their break including have a BBQ, have a sleepover, visit the local library, ride their bike, have a movie night and go on a picnic. You can also ask for it back in September, completed as their holiday homework.
Why use a Summer Holiday Planner?
- It helps with time management for all the family and introduces it to children early.
- It takes the pressure off parents and carers to keep a child occupied all the time
- It reduces stress for children who like routine and need to know what they are doing next and helps prevent overwhelm.
This summer holiday printable is a really simple calendar syle one that will have you and the children see what you are doing over the summer holidays at a glance. A great activity for the start of the summer is to give everyone a planner and ask them to plan their perfect holiday and then you can get together and plan one that suits all of you.

I always print my printables directly onto 160 gsm cardstock using my Epson Ecotank Printer rather than regular paper, this way they are a little more durable and the pens do not bleed through to the other side. However, if you do not have a home printer then just pop to a library and use theirs.
I have also put together a fun list of low cost and no cost summer activities to help complete the calendar including summer reading challenge, visiting relatives and loads other outdoor activities
My Favorite Printers
I have to say that I am a massive fan of Epson Eco Tank printers and have been using them excusivley for over 3 years and when Very offered me the ET-8550 ecotank which is an A3 printer I was seriously exciting (yes that is the sad life I lead)! The printer which is a 3-in-1 WI-FI printer with 10.9cm colour touchscreen. 3-in-1means that it can print (double sided), copy and scan to A4 size paper and scn, print and copy on A3 paper. It also have trays for A4 paper, photo paper and a rear feed for A3 paper and thinker card.
It took 16 minutes to set up and 7 of those were for calabrating the paper settings. Plus you can add an app to your phone and it walks you through exactly what you need to do and how to do it at each and every stage, making this a super simple process to get out of the box and printing.
My favorite aspect of the ecotank printers is the ink comes in bottles that your add to the printer as and when needed, not only is it eccomical, it is easy and less expensive than pther printing options. Even better the same ink can be used in all the ecotank printers if you have more than one.
