How to Make a Simple Autumn Wreath

How to Make a Simple Autumn Wreath is a collaborative post with Bosik. I love decorating for the season and Autumn is no exception. I also love the fact that decorating seasonally is getting more and more popular here in the UK.  A wreath is one of the simplest ways to transform your home. At various points throughout the year, a well-designed seasonal wreath adds personality to your front door, mantel or window.

I really enjoy crafting and decorating, but for me the simpler the better. I am not the best crafter but I really find the process relaxing.

How to Make a Simple Autumn Wreath

One of the things I love about modern wreaths is their lack of symmetry and the fact that anything goes.  When we are on our walks we collect pinecone and pop them in a jar.  We also keep any seasonal packaging that we get to use.  So the berries that we used here were from a parcel that we received.

I am also a BIG fan of the bostik glue dots and micro glue dots.  The extra strength permanent ones are perfect for this project and they are immediately dry, so no holding anything with your fingers whilst the glue sets.  The microdots are perfect for holding smaller areas and held the two ribbons together without being visible.

Glue dots are a fab alternative to a hot glue gun and are immediatly adhesive. I started by popping a glue dot on the back of each of the leaves and layering them up.

We wire our pinecones together before adding them using thin florists wire.  We clustered the smaller ones together before adding them by threading it through the willow wreath and twisting it to secure.

With the microdots rather than pressing the glue on to the item, I press the irem into the microdots.  So pressed the ribbon onto them

Then I stick the items together and I love the fact that the glue dots are so small – well they are called microdots that you can not see them even with the see through ribbons I used.

This wreath was exclusively made with florists wire and the Bostik glue dots and it is strong and secure.
