How to Make DIY Heart Notebooks is a paid collaboration with Bostik. I am a massive stationery and notebook lover and

To make these Heart Notebooks I used the simplest form of Japanese bookbinding – saddle stitch. There are loads of tutorials out there showing you how, but I used this one.

How to Make DIY Heart Notebooks

Take a piece of card and a few sheets of paper (I started with list four sheets, you can always build it up to more later) and fold in half.

Mark out where you want to make your holes. I did is first with a pencil before making them with an awl (please be careful as I stabbed myself and it

A lot of the tutorials I read said you needed to use waxed thread, but I used embroidery thread as that is what I had, but I pulled it through some beeswax I had (thread coditioner would work too).

Then the fun – decorating the notebooks – I used some scraps of paper in a ditsy floral and paper pouches and my Bostik Microdots.

The microdots are perfect for sticking small and intricate items.

You don’t have to stick to decorating outside the cover, you can pop things inside too.

I love how these turned out – I can see me making lots and lots more of these.

These would look fantastic personalised.
