How to watch Outlander in the UK

Outlander is based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon and follows the story of Claire Randall played by Caitriona Balfe who is a married combat nurse from 1945. She is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world in which her life is threatened. There are six series of Outlander currently and I am going to share with you How to watch Outlander in the UK.

Claire Randall who was a nurse in the British Army during World War II is enjoying a second honeymoon in Scotland with her MI6 officer husband Frank who is about to remark on a new career as an Oxford Historian when Claire is suddenly transported to 1743 and a world where both her freedom and life are threatened. There she marries Jamie Fraser played by Sam Heughan Scots warrior with a great sense of humour and embarks on a passionate relationship. However, Claire is caught between two worlds and two very different men.

OUTLANDER season seven is coming early 2023, but where will viewers be able to watch the upcoming season if they live in the UK?

This series is filled with romance and adventure, appeals to women and men alike, and has developed a cult following. I mean men in kilts what is not to love?

How Many Series of Outlander are there?

Outlander first premiered on August 9, 2014, on Starz and the sixth series of outlander was released in March 2022.

Outlander 2014

Outlander season one is based on the first novel in the series, Outlander (known as Cross Stitch in the United Kingdom) and sets the theme for all the following seasons. Claire is carried back in time to 1743 by the standing stones at Craigh na Dun and falls in with a group of rebel Highlanders from Clan MacKenzie, who are being pursued by British redcoats led by Captain Jonathan “Black Jack” Randall.

The second season of 13 episodes, based on Dragonfly in Amber, aired from April to July 2016 starts in 18th century Paris, where Claire and Jamie try to thwart the Jacobite risings.

The 13-episode third season, based on Voyager, aired from September to December 2017 and starts with Jamie killing Randall at Culloden where he is gravely injured, but spared execution.

The 13-episode fourth season, based on Drums of Autumn, aired from November 2018 to January 2019 and follows Claire and Jamie in Colonial-era North Carolina, along with their daughter Bree back in the 20th century (and beyond).

The fifth season of 12 episodes, based on The Fiery Cross, aired from February to May 2020 and saw Claire and Jamie Fraser fight to defend the home they have created in the US, known as Fraser’s Ridge.

The series was renewed for an 8-episode sixth season and a 16-episode seventh season to be based on A Breath of Snow and Ashes and An Echo in the Bone, respectively. The sixth season premiered on March 6, 2022, and is a continuation of Claire and Jamie’s fight to protect those they love, as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life in colonial America which is marching towards the revolutionary war.

In 2022, development began on a prequel series titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood, focusing on Jamie Fraser’s parents.
