I love my kitchen. It is eight years old and starting to show it’s age now. I am sure that the quality of kitchens they put in new houses is not very good at all, but the one thing it lacks is storage and display space. So last year MadDad bought me these fab shelves from Ikea.
I have something of a passion for kitchenalia and love everything on my shelves. I live in a house surrounded by males who would quite happily live in a white box with only essential items around and play football in the house. My shelf is my rebellion against it all and against them taking over my domain!
Top shelf (left to right)
- Camila Prada storage jar and salt and pepper pots. These are too cute to put in a cupboard and I adore Camilla’s work which is all handcrafted in England.
- Yellow and black mugs from Asda
- Print from Wink Designs
- Orla Kiely storage tins
- Cup from Bread and Jam
- Bowls from Ikea
- Paper straws (ebay)
- Storage tins from Orla Kiely
Bottom Shelf (left to right)
- Milk bottles from Dotcomgiftshop
- Teapot from Amazon
- Vintage mint sauce jug
- Avoca Jug
- Ikea Bowls
- Another mug from Bread and Jam
- Bisto Tin
- Another Camilla Prada creature
- Loom bands – got to keep it real!
- Mason Cash Bowl
- Rolling pin from Anthropology
- Enamel cups and teapot from Paperchase
As you can probably tell from my shelves I am a Mid Century girl, but according to the Victoria Plumb quiz I am more elegant! There is still time for you to enter too, take a look at the Tots100 to find out more.
Love your #shelfie, so pretty and coordinated. I could never publically show mine they’re a mess! I adore all the Orla Kiely things. #shelfenvy !!
I love your shelfie. Ikea are great for homeware! I have those mini milk bottles and straws, there fantastic! 🙂
I want everything on your shelves!!! Love it 🙂
I love kitchen ware that is too pretty to hide in cupboards, I think I’d love a welsh dresser when I have a big enough kitchen to house one so I can display all my pretty bits.
Love your shelfie! Those little milk bottles are wonderful, I must get some for the afternoon tea party the girls want to have for their birthday this year 🙂
I would love room in my kitchen for a lovely shelf like this.
You’ve got such a good eye for putting things together, that’s one elegant kitchen shelf! Good luck
Love your shelfie! I have a thing for Kitchenalia too! x
Totally love your shelf! Has such a great feel, very my taste. One of the charity shops in our town has lots of retro things like cereal tins, you would love them!
I think I want your shelves in my house!
Love your style! I adore Orla Kiely stuff xx
LOVE your SHELFIE Jen! I especially like the Camila Prada items. How fun!
Fabulous! You have a great knack of putting things together 🙂 And thank you for featuring my print too! x
Love your Orla Kiely tins! I’d love them but sadly have no space to display anything 🙁
You have some lovey bits, I love the Cadbury sign and the creatures x
I love your shelf! That is so feminine and homely – definitely something I would love!
Lovely things, Jen! I like a bit of Orla myself…and Scandinavian kitchenware is at the heart of my kitchen space…We move around a lot as a result of my husband’s job and often, because we’re short stay, end up in furnished homes. The kitchen is the only space that I have some creative control over so I’m rather territorial about it all! 😀 Loving all I’m seeing here..must check out Camilla Prada. xx
Jen, such lovely things! I’m jealous of your Orla!
What a beautiful shelf! We suffer with lack of storage in our kitchen and I have been nagging, sorry asking, my husband to put up a couple of shelves for almost a year!
I have shelf envy! I love your Orla Kiely pieces and your rolling pin. Glad to see some Bread & Jam mugs in there too. I have some of those but in a cupboard, not a lovely shelf x
Complete #shelfie envy here as well, think I might have to hide the cook books and focus on gathering as lovely bits and pieces!
I love your shelf area! Good luck with the competition x
You have some beautiful things on your shelves. I love the Camila Prada pieces, they’re gorgeous.
I am so impressed with everyones shelfies! My shelves are embarrasing, yours look fab.
What a stylish shelf! I am taking note, as well as a loft conversion we have a reconfiguration of our kitchen planned in over the next year and I think I’ll be taking a tip from your lovely accessories!
Love your shelfie. Really fab collection of bowls and mugs and canisters. Right up my alley. 🙂
Love that your shelf is so organised
LOVE your shelf – well mainly what’s on it – you are a lady of fine tastes!
I love it, very quirky looking, it looks great. My shelves are covered in clutter and dust, I couldn’t possibly show the world!
I am bowing down before your shelf in deep admiration.
P.S. I just picked up those Brakig bowls from Ikea on my latest visit – so pretty aren’t they?
Very jealous of your shelf, I love everything!
Love your kitchen, I have so much I need to do to get mine how I want it
oooh! Love your shelfie! I love Camila Prada too! x
What a brilliant #shelfie – I love those little salt and pepper pots!
I love your display – if I showed my shelves it would just look like a mess. A lovely collection.
Excellent shelves Jen! I think we have very similar taste when it comes to kitchenalia, both choosing mid century patterns and colours. I like the way you’ve styled them too. A gorgeous feature in your kitchen.
If it makes you feel any better we paid a fortune for our Moben kitchen 8 years ago and that is starting to look tatty too. Structurally the cupboards are all sound but the edging, worktops and handles are all looking battered. Perhaps that’s just what 8 years of cooking does to a kitchen! x
Love these shelves, the bit and bobs are so blummin cool and retro! I’m a bit rubbish at displaying things! My shelves have paperwork on them lol x
