Ten years ago I became a mother. ten days after Mother’s Day that year. I remember getting a card from the bump (thanks to MadDad). Ten year’s ago my life changed in ways I could never imagine and each year I love Mother’s Day. This year I have teamed up with Paperchase to bring you some ideas to share with your husband and the kids. I am delighted to be working with them as most people know I am fueled by pretty stationery and tea!
With today’s multigenerational families Fathers have expectations on all sides to provide a great Mother’s Day for their wives and partners in addition to their own Mum’s. I am a firm believer in the small things meaning so much on Mother’s Day, such as a card signed by your child and breakfast in bed. I would much prefer something personal, rather than an extravagant gesture.
So I got together with the MiniMads and we have come up with a list of ideas that children can do for their Mum on their own. We took a trip to our newly opened Paperchase and the boys chose some notecards as they wanted to use them for their DIY Mother’s Day gifts.
Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
- Breakfast in bed
- Hugs and tickles
- Afternoon nap
- Set the table
- A candlelight bath in peace
- Night off cooking
- Car wash
- Movie night
- Cup of tea in bed
- Vacuum the house
- Help with the laundry
- Help with the shopping
- Walk and feed the dog for a week
The boys have written their “gifts” inside of each of the notecards and I can exchange them when I want! I love it. A fab idea that can be adjusted for kids of any age.
I am a big fan of Paperchase, in fact we all are. Mini bought a new notebook when we visited and a handwriting pen too.
Paperchase have some wonderful gifts, that are perfect for Mum’s of all ages. We have got the Mother in Law a fab photo frame with a bit of bling (she loves her bling)!
The boys are also filling out a scrapbook for me for Mother’s Day and I can not wait to see what they say in it. I love the book as it has lots of prompts and places for photo’s and memories.
I am sure that lot’s of Mothers would be perfectly delighted with any of these thoughtful gift ideas from their kids on Monther’s Day.
Disclosure: We bought some of these items, some were gifted and we also received compensation for it.
