We were really lucky recently to have been gifted a tablet from Currys, more specifically an Ipad 4. We have been putting it to the test and I thought I would share with you our favorite games, apps and also a really good piece of advice that I got from Rith at Geek Mummy.
So firstly when we received the Ipad and I set it up, I went straight to Geek Mummy’s website and made sure that the boys could not make an in app purchases and run up an unexpected bill. The last thing any parent needs an an unexpected bill from apple and there is no need as setting it up was so easy thanks to Ruth’s step by step guide.

So I need your help. What are your must have apps and why?
Definitely look at all the Lego games for the boys, they are great. And you should also look at Dropbox. Monopoly is good as you can play against the iPad or use it in tabletop mode where it becomes a board you can use round the table. And the boys will love Action Movie FX and the NASA app. Editions is a nice magazine app as is flipbook.
I don’t have an iPad, but use quite a few apps on my phone which I think are also available for iPad (sorry if any of the ones I’m going to mention aren’t). I think that Pocket is great for saving articles to read later and being able to access them online or offline via a range of different platforms (e.g. mobile, tablet, laptop). I’m also getting into Pinterest and love its simplicity.
I’m sorry, I can’t really recommend any apps here…but you were gifted an actual iPad? For free? That’s totally amazing, you lucky lucky lady! We are a table free house, but only because we can’t afford one. 😉 It’s probably just as well we don’t have one as I’d never be off the Martha Steward app… x
