My whole family is sports-obsessed and we are massive fans of the Olympics and with them being in Paris this year and pretty much the same timezone, we are doubly excited.

The parish 2024 Olympics take place from Friday 26 July 2024 to Sunday 11 August 2024. However, the competitions for football and rugby will begin on 24 July and the handball tournament on the 25th. In a little over three weeks, 329 events in 32 sports will take place.

The Games will take place in several locations around Paris with a total of 35 venues and 24 of the Olympic sports will be located within 10km of the Olympic Village such as les Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-et-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis. However, the Paris 2024 Games will extend to many other areas of France, with the football tournament being played in six other cities (Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille) and the sailing taking place in Marseille but the surfing held at the Teahupo’o site in Tahiti which is in French Polynesia.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Mascot

The mascots (phryges) for the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics have been revealed — a Phrygian cap. The soft red cap, also known as a liberty cap, is an updated version of a conical hat worn which is a symbol of the pursuit of liberty in the French Revolution — and is still worn by the figure of Marianne, the national personification of France since that time. The Olympic cap is triangular in shape and comes complete with a friendly smile, blue eyes, tricolour ribbon and big-coloured sneakers.

I always print my printables directly onto 160 gsm cardstock using my Epson Ecotank Printer rather than regular paper, this way they are a little more durable and the pens do not bleed through to the other side. However, if you do not have a home printer then just pop to a library and use theirs.
