Vacuum cleaners and the way we use them has come a long way since I was a child and the invention of cordless technology. Cordless vacuums meant no longer get tangled up in a massive cord that no longer retracts into the machine, but the suction on those first machines left a lot to be desired and they were heavy.

Our homes have also changed over time too. I have a mixture of hard floors, rugs and carpet in our home and any vacuum we use needs to be capable of dealing with all of those and more. I remember my mum vacuuming our home religiously every morning and then lugging the heavy machine upstairs. Personally, I have only recently found that technology has caught up with my families needs. We currently have a Shark Anti Hair Wrap Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner with Flexology and TruePet which we bought over lockdown and really love, so I was intrigued to see if we would get much use from the Shark WandVac System 2-in-1 Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner.

• It is small but powerful with more suction power than any other handheld under 1kg.
• It comes with everything you need including a Crevice Tool, Multi-Surface Tool, Wand and two Floor Tools, one full-sized and the smaller Motorised Pet Tool perfect for stairs and the car.
• It continuously charges whilst on the base and has a second charging station on the base for the additional battery giving up to 32 minutes of battery power (I have never run out of battery power in the month we have been trialling it.

What I loved…..

The Shark WandVac System 2-in-1 Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner has become our downstairs vacuum cleaner. So much so that we have taken our other Shark upstairs. It handles our hard floors fantastically and the floor tool does a brilliant job on our two rugs.

But where it has really come into its own is its weight. I suffer from a chronic illness which means that I develop reaction arthritis with no warning. This often impacts my ability to do some household tasks. The Shark WandVac System 2-in-1 Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner has given me back the ability to do all the vacuuming including dusting the conservatory ceiling. Normally holding a vacuumed up above my head would be hard work if not impossible and I would have to delegate the job. Now I can do it myself and much more, it isn’t a chore, it is easy and has no lasting effect.

Anti Hair Wrap Technology – The floor tool and pet tool come with Sharks Anti Hair Wrap Technology a bristle-guard and comb actively remove hair from the brush-roll as you clean, helping to keep it free of tangles. Perfect for long, short and pet hair and I have to say that it mostly works. I have long curly hair and sometimes it does get tangled, but it is the best we have had!

Not so keen…..

It is hard to pick fault with the Shark WandVac System 2-in-1 Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner and the only thing that I would change is the location of the empty button. It isn’t a big issue, but we are so used to the handle controls being in a similar place on our old Shark to switch between floor modes, so have accidentally emptied it on a number of occasions until we got used to it.

Overall Opinion of Shark WandVac System 2-in-1 Cordless Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

We have been blown away by just how much we use the WandVac. I use it at least daily to keep on top of the downstairs of our home and to clean the stairs due to its ease of use. It is perfect at handling our hard floors and all the nooks and crevices we have.

We charge it with the wand and floor tool in place, so it feels just like a more traditional cordless vacuum and that is just great for tackling our rugs. Having the tools with the machine means it is simple to switch and it is always onhand when I need it.

The husbeast valetted both the cars with it and sang its praises. It is light and powerful and he loved the crevice tool.

As I said above I am really impressed with the powerfulness versus weight. It makes my life 100% easier. Even at 5 foot 2 I can reach the light in our conservatory and am happy to stand on a step with it to reach the apex.
