Simple Paper and Button Christmas Star Decorations

These paper and button Christmas Star decorations are so easy to make with children and a lovely invitation to create for over the festive period. To make it even simpler I have created a template that you can print out onto yellow card stock for the kids to cut.

One of my most vivid childhood memories is sat playing with my Mum’s button tin. It was filled with hundreds of buttons and lots of them had been her mothers and passed on to her. There is something really magical about a collection of buttons and that is where the inspiration for these simple decorations cam from.

How to make Simple Paper and Button Christmas Star Decorations

I used my Cricut (UK Link/US Link) to cut out the stars, but I have also created a template that you can use to print directly on to coloured card and cut out. Then use a single hole punch to create a hole for the twine.

Once you have your cards and buttons then the fun part starts and the buttons can be added.

If you have older children then they can use a glue gun, but for younger children, all-purpose glue works really well.

Once dried add the to string on your tree. Make sure to get the children to add their names and date on the rear of their decorations.

I love how colourful and bright they look. These Paper and Button Christmas Star Decorations would make a great craft for groups of kids such as Cubs or Brownies.
