I love taking photographs and was challenged by Bonusprint to attempt to take print-worthy photographs on my smartphone and I want to share with you the results and some simple photo displays we created.
I shared some tips on how to take great photographs on your smartphone here and I have been trying to make the most of the summer and capture images that are truly print-worthing that I am #proudtoprint.
Like most people my phone is my most is always with me and I use it a lot of capture candid moments and keep them forever. According to research by Bonusprint on average we take 24 snaps a day on holiday, publishing 5 to social media, but only 25% of these are truly good enough to print out!
I am just as guilty as other people of not printing out enough photographs, so decided the time had come to update our stairs photo gallery and also print some polaroid style images of Maxi playing football and of our recent holiday to Domain de Mathevies.
Simple Photo Displays
We have had a stairs Photogallery since moving into our home nearly nine years ago, but it was last updated about 5 years ago! To be honest the frames don’t really work on the wall as they rock and move when the front door slams or with the wind when it is left open, so I decided to order a mounted print of the boys and MadDad snapped on my phone at Chateaux de Castelnord and an acyclic print of the boys jumping into the swimming pool at Mathevies again taken on my iPhone.
We love the frameless images, they are beautiful and people have already commented on them and the plan is to update photos as time goes on.
Simple Temporary Photo Display
I also wanted something more temporary to Maxi’s room. He is starting senior school and will be using his desk more and more for homework, so I wanted to accessorise the wall around it with some polaroid style snaps of him playing football with his team.
I loved the idea of hanging them from bakers twine with small pegs as he can change them or replace them easily himself.
We loved the washing line style prints so much that we hung a line in the lounge with some holiday snaps on. It is simply bakers twine attached to the wall with washi tape and mini pegs. Temporary should we will to remove it, but also easily updatable. Displays like this are perfect for rented properties as they leave no marks on the walls.
Bonusprint have created a summer snappers guide with tips on how to make sure you take images which you are #ProudtoPrint.
I also want to see your print-worthy photographs, so share them with us using hashtag #proudtoprint on Bonusprints’s Facebook page or Twitter and The Mad House twitter, facebook or Instagram

I love Maxi’s temporary photo display – a great idea for easy swopping as he gets new ones taken with his friends.
Love the idea of putting some temporary photos on twine
Oh and I don’t think I have ever printed any of the photos off my phone!
Love the temp display in the kids rooms that’s something I’ll have to borrow soon – kids change their minds so quickly and often
I have the start of a photo gallery on my stairs. I have a number of great shots awaiting printing to complete it. I am now feeling inspired.
I love the line of polaroid style prints on a line, it looks really good. I used to have a photo gallery on my stairs in my old house. I will have to start doing it again. I’d love to win the competition, I’ve got a lot of photos coming up soon when I get married.
I love the peg idea – do you remember my old blog header?
Thanks for these ideas – I take loads of photos but rarely do anything with them!
We’ve got stacks of photographs that need printing out. Perhaps an £80 voucher would speed us up!
I love taking photos too it’s actually getting them printed and displayed that takes me forever. I do tend to use an app on my phone to make it easier though. Not I just need to actually display my photos!
We have something similar in Bethans room so she can swap her photos about and she loves it x x
