How to make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle decorated eggs

One thing we are always conscious of is that the boys only get an hour at the most to decorate their eggs, so there was a little prep done to get these ready.

Materials:

• Eggs
• Green food colouring
• Vinegar
• Orange, blue, red and purple felt or ribbon
• Googly eyes
• Black and pink Sharpie

Instructions

Maxi dyed the eggs at home.

We used 10 drops of gel food colouring with two tablespoons of vinegar in a quarter of litre of cold water.

Hard boil your eggs and place each hot egg into the dye mixture for ten minutes.

As I said maxi did of of this himself (he is 10), but for younger children you could prepare the eggs and felt and let them finish them off.

Cut four strips of felt long enough to go round the eggs one and a half times and make a slit three quarters of the way round to place the other end of the felt (or ribbon through)

Place two googly eyes on the felt of ribbon.

Draw on the turtles mouths and or tongues!

Yes it really is that simple to make Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle decorated eggs!  Even better we had everything we needed in the house.
