There is nothing better than receiving a kids made card and Father’s Day is no exception. I love getting creative with the MiniMads and coming up with ideas for this years card for MadDad. The boys love their father and there is something about watching the Husbeast with his boys that makes me go weak at the knees.
I understand that not everyone wants to do arts and crafts with the kids, but I believe that we all have a creative gene somewhere and that creativity is a muscle and the more we use it, the bigger it gets! I think that the significance of Father’s day and Mother’s Day only come to us once we are parents. I know that on Mother’s Day there is nothing better than getting a homemade card of little something from my boys. Before I was a mother I never understood the meaning of mother’s day, well that isnt quite true it was before my boys started making me things. Yes Mothers Day and Fathers Day might be cheesy, but it is wonderful too. The joy of getting something homemade from your children is irreplaceable oh and the lie in is brilliant too.
We love giving homemade personalised gifts here in The Mad House and we have been busy pinning personalised and monogrammed mugs for ages. Mini decided that these would make a great Fathers Day mug for MadDad (don’t panic Father’s day isn’t till the 15th June this year). These are so simple to make and if you do not have a Cricut Explore then do not despair as you could either use letter stickers or even print some out on your printer and cut them out.
I think that my Father and Grandfather both effected my choice in men, when it came to MadDad I fell hook line and sinker for a man with echo’s of the other great men in my life. A better husband I could not have and I have had the pleasure of watching him become a great Father over these last seven years. I should have known he would do it well, as he injected me in y butt three times a day for the whole of my pregnancies and was just amazing. Watching him grow and develop with our boys has touched my heart. He makes me proud every single day and they both love him and choose to spend time with him. He is a great Father.
But my Father’s legacy doesn’t end with my boys, oh no you only have to take a look at my younger brother and the way he is with his children. He is a wonderful father to Chuky, ever the child himself. His nephews adore spending time with him and he is a good honest man. He adores his step grandchildren and is starting to look more and more like my Dad.
I am so lucky to have so many great men in my life. Happy Fathers day, to those living and to those who’s echos live on.
