Getting prepared for Winter Driving - Winter Car Checklist

Autumn and Winter picnic food

As a family we love picnics and just because the weather is cooler in Autumn and Winter it doesn’t mean that picnicking has to stop.  No indeed for us it just means that we move to more warming food and sometimes we have them inside on a rug and sometimes we have them sat in the boot of the car! In fact having an Autumn picnic is in our Autumn Bored Jar!  We also carry a pop-up tent in the back of the car and it is great for picnicking in when it is windy. We keep the food simple warming and filing.  We have a couple of flasks that we […]

Strengthening Our Winter Defences

One of the things I miss most about living in Berkshire is my next door neighbour Louise, who runs her own business Panacea Holistic Health and Beauty.  Louise is one of those people that has an innate ability to make you feel good about yourself and I was lucky enough to be a client of hers. She provides a variety of holistic therapies and beauty treatments, gift vouchers and natural health and beauty products.  Her massages are divine and she tailor makes her treatments according to your requirements and needs.  She has the ability to put people at ease and make your treatment relaxing and refreshing. She made a superb inhaler and roller ball of a special aromatherapy mix for Mini and his tantrums, which […]

It’s snow joke 23

I haven’t been online a lot this week. Here in our little corner of the North East coast we have felt the full force of the weather that has hit Britain this week. We have had masses of snow and the boys school has been shut all week. So I have taken the opportunity to spend some quality time with mini and maxi and we have crafted, baked, read, made up stories, put up the Christmas decorations and enjoyed each others company.   MadDad has been working from home and has also spent a lot of time clearing paths and making sure the house is as safe and secure as it […]

Snow Days 5

I am likely to be AWOL a little this week, as the snow pretty much has us penned in.  No school, no way the cars on the drive are moving and no buses.  So me and the boys are making the most of if.  MadDad didn’t even get in to work today, which is a first! I am so glad that my mum has some fantasitc neighbours and friends as I can not get to her to help with shopping or anything. Also my brother, sister in law and neice are flying back from Florida tomorrow, I hope that they can make it back from the airport safely.
