Ditch the Takeaways this with these amazing Fakeaways.  Like the next person I love a good takeaway, but my wallet and waistline doesn’t always agree with me.  So I have scoured the internet to bring you some amazing fakeaways that are simple to make, delicious to eat and wallet-friendly.  Some of these are also slimming world friendly too – so do take a look at the recipes.

Now you will note that there are no pizzas below.  For me, you just can not slimming world a pizza.  I say NO to cauliflower crusts and all that.  I believe that homemade pizza is amazing and I know it tastes great, in fact, we have been making our own pizzas since the boys were in my tummy and we had them for Christmas eve cooked on our outdoor pizza oven.  So if you are eating healthily then I believe that you can have anything in moderation and would rather have less and have a great pizza. If you really can not stop yourself eating all the pizza then try making our mini pizza bites and freeze some.

KFC Chicken Fakeaway

My boys’ LOVE KFC and it is pretty family friendly budget wise but we don;lt have one anywhere near us and I love this fab recipe for KFC Chicken Fakeaway by Whit Whit Woo (which is slimming world friendly).  Initially, it might seem like it needs a lot of herbs and spices, but looking at the recipe you could make a big batch of the rub and use it for months to come.  Simple and delicious.  We are certainly popping this on our menu plan.  Plus a bonus is that kids seem to love making anything with a coating, so you can get them involved in this.

This Szechuan Beef recipe is a real crowd-pleaser and so simple to make. It is a great fakeaway for all the family.

Szechuan Beef Fakeaway

This is my sister in laws slimming world synn free Szechuan Beef recipe that I pinched from her after she cooked it for us all.  She is a fabulous cook and this tasted as good as our local takeaways.   This only takes 15 minutes to cook so is fast food in the best way (but it does benefit from being marinated).  All the family love this and writing this has reminded me to pop it on the menu plan again.

Beef Curry

Kate’s Slimming World Beef Curry is definitely a recipe for cold winter days.  This recipe would be perfect for popping in a slow cooker and making to enjoy when you return in from work on a Friday night or at the weekend after a long brisk family walk.

Mini loves a Wagamamas but the nearest one for us is over an hour away, so this oven-baked version of their Chicken Katsu Curry is a real crowd pleaser in the Mad House. This reduced syn version by Slimming Eats is a long-term favourite for us and a lot of other people.

A madras is always the Husbeasts go to when it comes to a curry and it is one of the most popular in the country.  This Chicken Madras Fakeaway from Susan K Mann was made by her son, so you know it is going to be simple to make and become a real family favourite.

Chinese Chicken

One of the benefits of a takeaway is that all the family tuck in and eat it and that is why this is one of our top 5 fakeaways. Chinese Chicken always means empty plates and it only takes 15 minutes to cook.  Double win, especially where families are concerned.

 

Fish and Chips

I find it really hard to believe that this fish and chips is low syn, but it is and it is blooming delicious too.  I love that it is battered and that you can make your own tartar too.  My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Burger in a Bowl

I have never had a burger in a bowl, but I am assured that they are delicious and Emma has a fabulously simple recipe for one here.  Now I know that this is something my boys would say no too, however, it would be really easy to shape the mix to make your own patties.  When we make homemade burgers we never add anything other than onions and a little spice. They are known as MumDonalds in our house!

Chicken Tikka Masala - Cooking with Kids

Mini’s Chicken Tikka Masala does take a little bit of preparation, but I promise you it is worth it.  Marinating and then cooking the chicken before you add it to the sauce adds an authentic flavour to this amazing fakeway.
