The Happiness Project 20

After a week in which I found a note from Mini saying nobody likes him, when I saw Kate’s blog post about what makes our children happy, it was something I was keen to do with them.

So I presented them with a large sheet of paper and asked them to draw what makes them happy.  No prompting and just left them to it.

Yes I am the fat one in the last picture by Mini, with a baby in my tummy, as he said he would like a baby sister to make him happier.  He is going to have to keep on dreaming as it is an impossibility!

I decided to also put together a collage of recent photographs board of what makes me happy.

We had an incident like that with a student when I taught in Italy and did something very similar. Asked the boy to keep a happy memories book of things to make him smile if he was sad. He said it really helped him focus on the positives in life.

How lovely, great that kids surprise us with such simple answers. My 3 yr old wants a baby brother , 3 girls and 40 years old means I won’t be fulfilling her wishes. Starting to learn she can’t always have what she wants.

Aw Jen this is fabulous – just what I was hoping to see. However I must say that it looks suspiciously like the number 2 on your belly in mini’s drawing – so twins perhaps?

What a great idea. I am going to get the boys to have a go at this tomorrow. Love that mini wants a little sister, my two say the same thing. Although Tyler wants me to have a piggy of course 😉 xx

I love the idea of a photo collage of all the things that make you happy. I think I may have to borrow the idea and turn it into a scrapbook layout. Your boys must make you so proud. What a lovely answer to the question.

This is so cute, definitely something I’ll do with bear when he’s old enough. When I started writing my business plan a few weeks ago I added a section called how would a three year old run the business after I went to a really inspiring talk by the owner of Ella’s Kitchen – I asked my three year old what makes him happy and he instantly replied ‘you do mummy’. Priceless.

Ah I joined in with this blog hop though I don’t really think Youngling understood the concept as he said he liked everything (literally nanna, cats, chocolate, bed – total fib, bath, shoes). I decided to write a bit about what I liked instead. Love your Younglings they are so cute. Instead of the baby then maybe get him a pet? 😉 just an idea xx

Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re working with? I’m going to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
