Top Garden Trends 2019

For the last 10 years, my garden has been a football pitch, sandpit and vegetable garden. Now that my boys’ are older the garden is back to being a more adult domain, so I have been researching the top garden trends for 2019. One of the biggest things I have noticed is that garden trends seem to stick around. it is not about moving on from one trend to the nest and sustainability is a BIG thing.

Top Garden Trends 2019 - What are the hot trends in landscaping and gardening. it’s never too early to start planning. Here are some of the top trends for sprucing up your outdoors in 2019.

Turn your garden into a room

After the wonderful summer of 2018 staycations are becoming more and more popular. Why travel when you can stay at home and make the most of your own garden? Outdoor furniture is becoming more affordable allowing you to create exterior spaces with areas to dine, entertain, relax and be active. Adding a Fire pit, outdoor lighting, outdoor speakers, outdoor rug and storage blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor. Also, don’t rule out commercial outdoor seating for a home garden as they are designed to last.

Although grow your own isn’t a new trend, now more than ever we have a vested interested in where our food comes from and how it’s being grown. And the ability to grow your own food is not limited to people large gardens or allotments.

The garden is one of the places that has really seen the rise of eco and plastic free living. 2019 will see a big switch to biodegradable plant pots, using materials such as coconut husks, wood chips, rice husks, miscanthus or seaweed.
